To be honest I don't think it matters too much about pre-ordering, I just don't think It'll be sold out. I think even if you don't pre-order you'll easily get one.

Agreed, unless you're planning on buying it in a specific themed store (Nintendo Word), then there should be no problem.

Here in Australia pre-orders for the Wii U opened up at EB Games (Australian GameStop) as soon as it was announced last year.

Already possible to pre-order here in Sweden and has been for a good while. I will definetely pre-order to ensure to have one at launch, but I am waiting for a date and pricetag. So maybe tomorrow will be the day. Problably will be.

idk where u live where u have to preorder for 50 bucks. i just pay 5 bucks lol

Where I live, it's 5 dollars for standard game, then 20 for collectors edition, and 50 for consoles.

I'll be pre-ordering just because I like putting down bits of cash at a time. That way it doesn't feel like I dropped $300+ all at once.
I say $300+ because I'm sure I'll be buying a game or two as well.

The $50 thing makes sense cause that's what the manager at EB games told me it's their standard for any console preorder. I'm moving and am not sure if I can buy the console at release but I might be able to if they have a trade in you're wii and get extra credit promotion or something. I hope they do.

I hate to say it, but I doubt they will :/ Did they do anything like this for the Wii or Gamecube? Does anyone know? I know they do these sorts of things all the time for portable systems.
