Ash never went back for his Pidgeot. >> (Or Butterfree, but it probably died after it reproduced.)

What all games is Red off of? All I remember is Pokemon Red and SSBB.
But my answer is Ash.

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

Actually, I think Misty got a new bike at the end of the Johto saga if I remember correctly.

As for my answer to this question, it really depends on what you're looking at. Do you want a powerful trainer, or an experienced one? If you want Power, Red is your go-to-guy. He's the strongest trainer in series history, he has the highest leveled team, and he's just all around awesome. However, I would say that Ash is the more experienced of the two. Ash has been to all 5 regions, rubbed elbows with all kinds of Pokémon in their natural environment (including legendaries), He's befriended people from all around the world, and he hasn't spent 3 whole years of his life on top of a mountain. Red on the other hand we can only confirm has been to Kanto, at least some of Johto, and visited Unova for the World Tournament, and while he has captured several legendaries (assuming the player completes the Pokédex in R/B/Y/FR/LG), he doesn't touch to much on how they exist in the real world as Ash has in the anime.
(Note: All my information on Red comes from the games. I've never read the manga, and know very little about it.)

Red is FAR better. His Pikachu, Snorlax, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, and Lapras (All extremely high levels) are the most balanced team that's not from an actual player. Ash is just in the cartoons, and his party is kinda lame. He can choose from a lot of Pokemon, but a lot of them are unevolved, such as his Gible and Pikachu (Red's Pikachu is, too, but it's, like, level 87). The only trainer in SS that can come close to beating me is Red. You can't fight ASh.

Game Red and Manga Red are both superior.
Ash's pokemon always weaken when he reaches a new region. It's like he gets weaker over time.

You can't answer that question they are almost the same person. Its like asking : Brock or Brock.
I think Brock is waaay better than brock... but brock becomes a doctor while brock stays a gym leader aaaah.
Fail.... I should stop talking to myself.
I'd choose Ash.. even though his pokemons weaken, he is still awesome. And he met every legendary pokemon.

But Red also meet Legendary pokemons and then he actually captured them.
