#286980 4chan convinces reporter that Elliot Rodger was addicted to creatine

A friend of “virgin killer” Elliot Rodger has revealed he was addicted to a muscle-building supplement, which could have triggered his anger before his shooting rampage.

Chris Akin, a friend of Rodger, told the Mirror that the Isla Vista murderer started taking the supplement creatine after a mutual friend died in a bodybuilding accident while trying to lift a 550-pound weight.
Akin, who used to Skype regularly with Rodger, 22, said he observed a change in his attitude after he began allegedly taking the drug daily.
Akin, who lives in Chicago, told the Mirror that Rodger was trying to build muscle mass to attract girls and get over his grief from losing his close friend.
While not illegal or a steroid, creatine, an organic acid which is “typically bought in flavored powders and mixed with liquid — increases the body’s ability to produce energy rapidly. With more energy, you can train harder and more often, producing faster results,” Men’sHealth.com reports. It can also be bought and consumed in tablet form.
Side effects of creatine can include “weight gain, muscle cramps, muscle strains and pulls, stomach upset, diarrhea, dizziness, high blood pressure, liver dysfunction, and kidney damage,” according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.
It is also understood that it can cause mood swings and depression. Bodybuilders have reported getting angry easily and hyper in online forums on the Bodybuilding.com website, where Rodger regularly contributed.

Malicious.

Hideki Kamiya has been working exclusively on the Wii U for a while, and apparently he hasn’t been very much in touch with the news about the PS4. Today he finally discovered that Sony’s new console isn't backwards compatible, and didn’t really take it well.

damn that's rough.

#285221 New series/systems the year you were born

Posted by Hank Hill on 14 May 2014 - 07:52 PM

Well, if Wikipedia is to be believed...

1995 was:

  • The start of the Star Wars: Jedi Knight franchise
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Command and Conquer
  • Yoshi's Island
  • Rayman
  • Twisted Metal
  • Worms
  • Suikoden
  • Time Crisis
  • Descent
  • Destruction Derby
  • I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream
  • First (and currently only) entry in the Mother franchise for the US
  • The PS1 released
  • And last, but definitely the least: The Virtual Boy.
  • Dang. My birth year was friggin awesome.

#285186 Sony Lied: Watch_Dogs NOT 1080p on any Current-Gen Console

Posted by KeptMyWiiUAndLeftTheForums on 14 May 2014 - 02:20 PM

I feel like this game is gonna be one of those cautionary refrences after it flops. In a couple year you'll hear people saying "Don't wanna get Watchdogged."

Also inb4 poor sales on PS4 and Xbone are Ubi's fault but on Wii U it's Nintendo fans' fault.

Well god damn 30fps at 900p & 792p!! Next gen has arrived! This has officially hammered the last nail in the coffin of PC gaming...R.I.P The Master Race

    Only 30fps too.
Last gen, on both P4 and x1.
    900p compared to 792p respectively.

#285026 Mario Kart 8 US commercial

Posted by Nollog on 13 May 2014 - 09:14 AM

They need to ditch all the live-acting stuff. It's terrible. Show the game, maybe show an animation of Mario or something, but don't have real actors...
Anyway, this is great that they've started their advertisement this early.

Heh I disagree, it reminds me of their old 90's ads. The cgi ads for games are annoying af.

#285016 What games do you want to come out/be made?

Posted by Auzzie Wingman on 13 May 2014 - 06:18 AM

I don't understand your topic question (Wii U)
    Arcsys Crossover (PS4)
    Threads of Fate sequel (PS4)

#284079 GAMESPOT updates their GTA Online review - drops from 7.0 to 6.0

Posted by Zinix on 06 May 2014 - 05:59 PM

Having spent most of my life living in Los Angeles, I'm now of the opinion that it can be an interesting place to visit if you know where to go and what to look for, but that I wouldn't want to live there. After visiting it again, I feel the same way about the Los Santos of GTA Online. There are some great moments to be had, but, like getting anywhere in the gridlock traffic of LA, those moments can be difficult or impossible to access. They also lack any kind of coherent structure, and they're prone to all kinds of hang-ups and mishaps. If you want to enjoy GTA Online, you have to be willing to let go of any sort of desire for control, and just go with the flow. Whether it will take you someplace wonderful or someplace infuriating is anyone's guess.
