#316694 Super Mario Maker: 60 Levels Confirmed; One by Rayman's Michel Ancel

Posted by Marcus on 22 August 2015 - 01:19 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Anyone see that Metroid imitation level that gamexplain did a video on the other day? It looked genuinely decent.

Has anyone predownloaded it from the eShop yet?

Please don't say "predownloaded" is a word. Oh well, it could be worse. I genuinely read the word "pre-preheat" the other day.

#316693 Freedom Planet on Wii U - Delayed Indefinitely

I dislike the word "indefinitely" here.

#316657 Xenoblade out now on Eshop (Europe)

Posted by Marcus on 18 August 2015 - 10:45 PM in General Gaming

I haven't bought this yet but apparently you can actually play using the gamepad as your controller. Is this the first wii game where this is possible?

I think Pandora's Tower allowed that too. And possible one other.

It's just any game that was playable with the classic controller on the Wii.

#316655 RE:Revelations 2 - Multi-Lingual Physical Release

Posted by Marcus on 18 August 2015 - 10:36 PM in General Gaming

My desire to play Xenoblade Chronicles on the gamepad ended up overwhelming my need for a shooter. Especially with Mario Maker coming out so soon, I don't think I'll have time for this :-| Probably wait for a sale.

I'd seen that. Such a weird arrangement. But better than nothing I guess. If the port reviews well, I'll definitely get it. For saying the Vita was almost made for shooters, there are a depressing lack of them on the platform.

7:25

Throwing shell upwards confirmed.

Yep, I saw that too. Excellent news. Now lets look out for wall running. I'm somewhat less optimistic about that!

#316532 Splatoon Leak? Octolings Playable? New Maps, Weapons..?

The bridge level looks cool. More level variety is what this game needs!

#316531 Super Mario Maker: 60 Levels Confirmed; One by Rayman's Michel Ancel

They claim it will preserve all the physics and abilities of each Mario game, including kicking a shell upwards in SMW and wall jumping NSMB games.

Cool. Well we've already seen evidence of wall jumping and ground pounding in NSMB levels. I don't think we've seen upward shell throwing yet though. I hope it's added though. It adds one extra possibility for gameplay challenges.

One other thing I didn't mention for SMW was also the ability to run up walls, which I'm fairly sure was missing from all recent games. I'm guessing that one will be less likely to have survived than the upwards shell.

#316498 Xenoblade out now on Eshop (Europe)

It's weird that the regional differences carry over onto the digital stuff too. I wouldn't have thought there'd be any reason to have the US release be later.

#316495 English Xenoblade X footage

Posted by Marcus on 08 August 2015 - 04:05 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Cool stuff. Although doesn't really matter that it's english with them yapping away for the whole thing!

#316491 Super Mario Maker: 60 Levels Confirmed; One by Rayman's Michel Ancel

Posted by Marcus on 08 August 2015 - 08:58 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I have a really specific question if anyone knows the answer. Have ALL of the abillites of the respective generations been preserved? The one I'm thinking of in particular is the SMW ability to throw shells upwards. If I remember rightly, that only existed in that generation. They removed it for the more recent games and you could only throw shells left or right.

#316482 Super Mario Maker: 60 Levels Confirmed; One by Rayman's Michel Ancel

Well they've well and truly jumped on the DLC bandwagon at this point. Hope we'll get some for this. A new visual style would be cool DLC.

Is there multiplayer?

#316478 Super Mario Maker: 60 Levels Confirmed; One by Rayman's Michel Ancel

They're doing a pretty good job of making this hard to avoid. I predict quite impressive sales!

I don't even think I'll bother creating much but it seems like there'll be so much to play through that it's worth owning for that.

#316395 Best game ever?

Posted by Marcus on 01 August 2015 - 01:28 AM in General Gaming

OoT/Mario Galaxy/Metroid Prime/Xenoblade Chronicles.

One of those. Depends on the day for me!

#316394 Legend of Kay Gameplay

Going for £15 on amazon!

#316278 Dragon Quest XI - PS4, 3DS, NX

So you gonna rename this forum if the Wii U just dies next year or what?

#316225 Resident Evil Revelations 2 Coming to PS Vita August 18th

Posted by Marcus on 24 July 2015 - 08:07 PM in General Gaming

Yeah, but how much did they invest in that 3DS game. It's probably the most graphically advanced game on the system. And it's only sold around 1 mil. I'm guessing they were hoping for a bit more.

#316207 Never Alone and the need for Natives in games

Posted by Marcus on 23 July 2015 - 08:25 PM in General Gaming

No because that  Native "American" part is an insult. They were here before "Murica. Many of them hate the American part added. They are Native to this country and land.

You need words for things. "Native" is a general term and won't mean the same thing elsewhere in the world. Americans might want to call them natives. But I'm not american. If I said that, no-one would know what I was talking about.

#316206 Resident Evil Revelations 2 Coming to PS Vita August 18th

Posted by Marcus on 23 July 2015 - 08:19 PM in General Gaming

It reviewed ok. Metacritic 75.

Ok so it'd be nice if they got back to the standard of RE4. But given how few shooters there are on the Vita, I'll take a 75 if this version scores as highly.

#316204 Nintendo & Facebook Come Together for Super Mario Maker

Posted by Marcus on 23 July 2015 - 06:34 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Having a limited release schedule really does make Nintendo go full-on with the marketing. I hope they do the same for Xenoblade X, that game deserves big sales.

#316203 Resident Evil Revelations 2 Coming to PS Vita August 18th

Posted by Marcus on 23 July 2015 - 06:19 PM in General Gaming

Same date for Europe too.

Sad there's no physical but I'll definitely be getting this, unless it turns out to be the worst port in history.

Such a lack of shooters on the Vita, for saying it's perfectly made for them.

#316145 Super Mario Maker Discussion - Hands-On Impressions (Wii U)

Posted by Marcus on 20 July 2015 - 09:01 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I find myself agreeing with whats-his-name in the gamexplain video. This started off as a bit "meh" for me, but they've really piled on the cool features that it looks like it'll be quite good.

I might get just for the sake of playing other people's levels tbh.

And yes, I am also affronted by the racism. It's why my well-known character avatar just avoids having skin altogether, best to avoid offending people with such things.

#316130 Legend of Kay debut trailer

Posted by Marcus on 17 July 2015 - 03:51 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Wow it is £15. That's pretty awesome. I'll just wait for a few reviews to check it's not an absolute mess, then I'll definitely be getting this!

#316123 My Vita vs. New 3DS showdown

Posted by Marcus on 16 July 2015 - 08:26 AM in General Gaming

Well make the most of it while you can then! I seriously doubt they're gonna make another.
