...the world is ahead

So just returned from the theater, and I can say I enjoyed the film. I'd like to see other member's reception of the film, 'cause I really can't be the only member here who watches movies.

Personally, I thought the movie was great and did a really great job of bringing Middle Earth into the story. Though I do feel that the movie could have benefited greatly without its inclusion.

This one I'm definitely looking forward to. Huge fan of J.R.R Tolkien's LOTR and Hobbit books and Peter Jackson's epic LOTR trilogy. I hope he creates the same wonder that I witnessed with the upcoming Hobbit film.
Boxing Day is when it comes to theaters here.

I have heard that people have been getting motion sickness from the movie.

I'm not quite sure if I want to see it now. I know I won't get sick, but I'm worried about other people.

Yeah if you see it in the higher frame rate 3D you might not enjoy it as much.

I saw it last night in 2D and personally, I loved it. Martin Freeman is perfect as Bilbo Baggins and im glad they didnt try to turn it into a serious action-packed film like LOTR considering the book is really a childrens book; the film itself has more of a light hearted and humorous tone in comparison with LOTR. Saying that, the action sequences that were included in the film were superb as they always have been in Peter Jacksons films.

I cant wait for the next two installments.

I saw it today and I really enjoyed it. I had doubts about whether making a trilogy out of just one book would work, but it was nice that none of the scenes felt rushed. I haven't actually read the full book, so I can't comment on whether it was true to the original story.

Any particular criticisms you had that ruined any possible enjoyment of the film?

Should be fine.
The movie was apparently shot at 48 frames per second, they're usually shot at 24.
You're probably used to much higher frame rates from videogames.

I don't like movies based on what lotr is based on (middle earth, with dwarves and elves and stuff) so I don't plan to see it, but I probably will at some point.

Saw it, never read the books (Yeah I plan to eventually but eh). Was pretty good.

I'm just not sure if I saw it in 48fps or not? It was in 3D.

Will wait for the bluray release, coz its getting an extended cut (an extra 20 minutes if I remember correctly). Does look good though.
I hear voices in my head all the time, telling me what to do. But I just ignore them and carry on killing.

I enjoyed the film a lot. I've read the book of The Hobbit and I like the inclusion of of things which didn't happen in the book such as the coversation between Saruman, Galadriel and Gandalf. I've seen the movie twice now and during the second time of watching it I remembered many quotes from the film already.
