Looks like the DLC road for Super Smash Bros for Wii U is over, they announced that Cloud from Final Fantasy is coming as a playable fighter, and the final Super Smash Bros for Wii U Direct is in December 2015.

If that's the case, WWHD was just an upscaled WW. There's been a bunch of texture work done so it isn't blurry any more, there's more detail... Plus I bet they'll touch up some models before release so they don't look so dated.
