Donkey Kong Country Returns Comparison

The Wii version has higher resolution textures (most noticable when he is about to leave his house) and better lighting (the lava level) and shadows (the cutscene with Diddy), but that is kind of expected. Character models. and environments look about the same, although the 3D effect should look really good in the 3DS version. The 3DS version also appears to use buttons only, so that's a plus.
So tell me what you think of the trailer, and if you are going to get ir or not. I am because I missed out on the original, and I want to use buttons instead of motion controls the Wii version had.

I agree 100%. I just wish my 3DS wasnt stolen.I'm picking it up because I loved the Wii version. But I didn't like the unnecessary motion controls on the original version. Having this based only on buttons will make it 100 times easier to play and will feel just like the SNES Donkey Kong Countries.

I do see the decision to release this game on the eshop as a downloadable title having a negative effect on the texture resolution.

I play the Wii version of DKCR and it was really a great game and hard. As for the 3DS version I am not sure if i'll pick it up since I beat DKCR.
Same here. If it goes on sale I may double dip, but since I have the Wii game I don't plan on getting the 3DS version. Either way, for those that haven't play it this game is amazing. I miss Rareware but damn Retro did a fantastic job.

The thing that I noticed the most was no shadows for the boss, weird considering it's a blob. xD

I think the 3DS version looks very good next to the Wii version. I'll double-dip again.

The comparison is pretty impressive. 3DS doesn't look too far off.

The Wii version ran at 60FPS, while the 3DS version is at 30, even with 3D off. This is a little disappointing, but it shouldn't affect the overall game too much.

Well that's...interesting. Not gamebreaking, but the 3DS cn handle it.
Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

Eh, what the hell I'll buy it, I'm sick of shaking the Wii remote.
