The Wii U will have a more robust library by then and the holidays will be right there. I don't know. Could work out very well.

The wii u is already very cheap for the hardware it packs.
It's also the first Nintendo home console to be sold at a loss.
No price cut.
Nintendo already gave us a price cut right at the beginning.
And the wii u has high value even with the ps4 launch.
It at the very least justifies its price and will continue to do do for a couple of years.
PS4 and the 720's release will cut the wii U's price to free.
Ignorance is bliss I guess.

I don't even see why PS4 would ruin the wii U's current price, it'll be winter in no time and the holidays will force the wii U's price to go down a bit, PS4 or not.

But, while it isn't gloom and doom as some would say for the Wii U, we can't deny that the sales are lagging behind Nintendo's own projections.
The launch of a more hyped and powerful system this holiday will not help. People will react to value. If they can get the deluxe under $300 I think it can drive sales. Early adopters like us always pay more then the general public will for new stuff like this.
Any way, just a thought.

Do tell.
The window is "Holidays 2013" .
I do agree that a price drop is likely.
I'm expecting (read hoping) that Retro Studios' new game, whether it be a new IP or an old one reinvented, to be bundled with the Wii U at a reduced price for the Holiday season. If needed, it'll be a price drop close to the 3DS scale, which was about 30%.

If they do a price drop I surely cannot see it being 30% . That is over 100 dollars lower for the deluxe Wii U.
If they do a price drop, I expect basic bundle Wii U 8 gig to be 249.99 bundled with Nintendoland, and Wii U 32 gig to be 299.99 with Nintendland and Super Mario U. I can see this, but nothing lower than that.

Your own expectations are a 25% drop, not that far off.

That's why I said "close to the 3DS scale" ^^

Not to be rude but I am not sure where you get your math from...but a 25% drop is still around $75 bucks for Wii U 8 gig and $87 bucks for Wii U 32 gig.. my examples are more like 17% off from MFSG which gives a $50 - $60 price drop. To you it may not seem "that far off" but when you compare it to current retail pricing of a 3DS XL going for it's new MFSG of $199.99 Nintendo could really hurt itself offering the Wii U Basic Console at 30% off, that would make it around $210.00...

But really they have no need to. The most i can see nintendo doing is adding in a game.
So there will be some holiday bundles.
The ps4 and next xbox wont have the game line up the wii u has.
