I on very rare occasions take pictures of my food. I just don't really think it is that big of a deal. Maybe it's because I don't usually have that much of an appetite. I suppose if it was something really fancy I would consider taking a picture of it. I don't really mind if other people take a picture of their food.

What's the point? People just assume that their friends/followers/whatever actually care about what food they're eating. "omg look at this amazing burger i just ordered..." umm no thanks.
You could say that about any picture anyone takes about anything really, just depends on where your interests lie.
I do it from time to time, especially on the odd occasion I cooked for larger groups of people; or sandwiches, I love me some sandwiches.
