There has been a ton of new topics made, filled with spam, by the numerous spambots we have had on these forums.
I think there should be a verification code you have to enter when you create a topic (or certain number of topics in one day) to prevent this.
The recent spambot (DraitTariGorp), as of this post, has created 49 topics just today.

Meh. Verification code for registering would probably better, although it might deter potential users... Hmmm...
I guess I never create any threads, so it wouldn't bother me at all... And I don't think most people make threads that often, so I guess it could work, now that I think about it.

I guess I never create any threads, so it wouldn't bother me at all... And I don't think most people make threads that often, so I guess it could work, now that I think about it.
Even so, you could make it to where if a certain number of topics are made at once, you would then enter a code after, say, three topics or so.

Currently, registering requires you to answer a random question.

Well, a verification may seems like a good idea for topic creation. I (and others) have been speaking with feldo a bit about some solutions to the forums, and this can be a suggestion or an idea.
Is there any possible way a limit of topics could be made in a day? Maybe one every 1 or 2 hours?

The Escapist occasionaly requires you to enter a code to post. It's completely random though.

I agree, and it would be nice if you could confirm users as in allow users who are active and don't spam to no longer enter a code.

I don't see why we need to stop people posting threads, all we need to do is make the bots unable to make them.
If I'm right about there only being 3 questions, all we need is a better captcha on registration.
If you want to go crazy then do what's been suggested before, making new registrants have less abilities, or be moderation-que'd.

The problem is spambots don't always make threads, they can just throw some spam in a random thread too.
It could help out a little. (I wouldn't want to enter a verification code for making post, lol, that would be terrible)

This is a brilliant isea, it doesn't take long to imput a code. The spam on this site is getting amazingly stupid.
