Teenager dobs in parents over cannabis

A North Canterbury teenager surprised police twice at the weekend - first when she phoned them to report cannabis growing in her back garden and second when she told them she believed either one or both of her parents were responsible.

A police spokesman said the 18-year-old called police on Saturday after finding two large cannabis plants "nestled amongst the shrubs" in the Woodend property.

The girl's parents were away for the Easter break and she had found the plants with visiting friends.

The spokesman said she made the decision to phone police immediately.

Police seized the plants that day.

He said the plants were about 1.5 metres tall and were "near harvest".

The spokesman applauded the girl "for her stand against drugs" in the "catch-22" situation.

"She was confronted with an ethical dilemma. So often we say the older generation are wiser than the younger. Maybe we didn't get that right."

He said the parents would be interviewed by police in coming days, and they were aware the plants had been seized.

I could understand snitching on her parents if she found a heroin stash or something but it's only weed. She should have spoken to her parents about it first before going to the police.

 

I'm guessing she's a loser who doesn't drink or even go out at the weekend.

Whether it was weed or heroin doesn't matter. It's still an illicit drug... one that many people seen to use in my Black Ops II lobbies

I tried a bit of weed once, I ended up walking into a shed, oh and while I was on the floor my friend drew some pretty rude stuff on my face with permanent marker pens and I didn't even know he had, I walked round with it on my face all day, even to the shops, I never tried it again.

I only ever did it once. Man that stuff is hard to smoke the first time around. I was so lucky it was 5 in the morning, otherwise I might've become a junkie. I was so bloody tired I needed sleep, and I don't sleep in places that don't have grade-A toilets.

am guessing your one of those "Cool dudes" who get drunk off there heads every weekend, wake up with a hangover then smoke weed all day... sounds like a nice life you have there.
