You see, some members overreacted to the Grumpy Old Troll incident a few weeks ago. This caused the whole forum to go into chaos, and because one member overreacted. They are now hated on/trolled.

The chat was 90% of the reason I got on this site. It introduced me to the community when it was still in its prime, and it was the greatest thing ever. I'm going to miss it more than anything I have ever missed on the internet.
Here's to all of the memories this chat has brought. You will be missed.

No, Feld0 forgot to renew licenses for multiple site functions, chat being one of them. Feld0 hasn't been on here today, so we don't know if this was intentional, or a mistake on his end. But the fact that the chat link on the top has been removed, and that Feld0 has plans to remove chat at one point, leads to a bad end for chat.

Just to point things out, I'm going to list reasons why chat was failing, and how we fix them.

 

1. Troll accounts going into chat to troll specific members.

 

The fix: It's as simple as reporting the troll, and a mod/admin will take care of it. Don't respond to the flamer/troll, and ignore him/her.

 

2. Arguments between members.

 

Fix: Simply let it go under the bridge, don't make it a huge problem. Leave chat temporarily if needed.

 

These are ( in my opinion) the two biggest reasons chat died. 

 

Not to mention, because of these problems, multiple members left ( forums and/or chat). Leaving chat without members returning, making it less enjoyable. Now if chat were to turn around, which I think it has over the past few days, we could be seeing chat in it's ( or close to) former glory.
