Based on the strong lineup of upcoming software titles for both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, Nintendo expects to return to Operating Income profitability by the end of the current fiscal year. During the next several months, Nintendo expects to launch new titles in the Mario Kart (Wii U), Super Mario Bros. (Wii U), Wii Fit (Wii U), Pikmin (Wii U), The Legend of Zelda (Wii U and Nintendo 3DS), Mario & Luigi (Nintendo 3DS) and Pokémon (Nintendo 3DS) franchises. These games, along with titles from Nintendo’s third-party publishing partners, will help drive hardware momentum and introduce new audiences to the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS platforms.

I'm glad Nintendo is getting some of their heavy-hitters out this year for Wii U. I just hope they don't rush any of them out too quickly. I know the Wii U needs some first-party love, but I don't want them to act too hasty and possibly compromise any of their projects.

They didn't say SSB. I'm guessing it will be early next year. After all it has been in developement since early 2011.

Great, these two changed the 3DS' sales, hopefully it'll do the same for Wii U.

I don`t think it can be safely assumed that "the next several months" equals "this year".

If they hadn`t got Wind Waker coming i would assume they would release Mario and Mario Kart this year. But with WW, why cram all 2 main franchises in the last quarter?

Either Mario or Mario Kart should be kept for the remaining half of the fiscal year.

those turds at the SEGA forums said Nintendo stopped trying after Mario sunshine and Mario kart double dash i for one am quit hyped i just hope they do well against the onslaught that lies up ahead :.(

no I hadn't, it started development after kid Icarus uprising released. I'm guessing SSB to release in early 2015.

That's when Uprising was released. And no a SSB game wouldn't take 4 years to  complete. It's not Skyrim.
