What are you expecting for graphics exactly? I can't find the quote, but I think Sega stated that the next generation won't be looking for a highly realistic style and will continue with what they been doing. Which are bright and colorful graphics. These graphics are great in my opinion. So I'm just wondering what were you expecting?
I expected something that looks more like generations looked, i'm still buying the game, no question there.

I think Sonic xtreme set the template but SMG took it revamp it and made it theirs.
Now Sonic having been an exclusive to Nintendo clearly got influence on how SMG did their project and then made Lost World which by all means is a good thing.

Like i said earlier, i would not be surprised at all if nintendo actually helped make this. Nintendo stated several times they were working on joint project collaberations, and exclusive sonic games looks to fit the bill nicely.
Also, when has sega ever released a 3d sonic that had platforming and controls that look remotely close to this good? Never. Never even close. Sega is famous for spectacularly failing to bring sonic into 3d intact. And suddenly this?
When was the last nintendo game release with platforming/controls this good? Galaxy 2.

First trailer!
To be honest, this reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy...
That`s exactly what i thought!
Wouldn`t it be cool if Nintendo was helping them in Sonic and Sega was helping develop Mario? E3 megaton!

I see. Well, I can't tell the difference but maybe that's because I'm only looking at trailers on my phone!

Well the comparison is pretty easy to make, though i dont think anyone is trying to imply its a rip off of galaxy, and its not lile sega hasnt tried similar ideas before galaxy existed, just look at sonic xtreme.
I don't think anyone is saying it is a rip off. Buy maybe its because I only played Galaxy 1 briefly, and never touched Galaxy 2 (even though my ex-wife bought the game for me ... When she know I didn't want it). But I don't see the similarities. So I was just asking.
However, from another post you made after this one, sounds like its about controls and not graphics or level design?

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect

(P.S. Yes, I know it's based off of another cancelled sonic game, I do watch YuriOfWind, but this reminds me more of Super Mario Galaxy than that game)

Graphics no, galaxy was a lot like sonic generations visually, these fantasy world designs with very realistic textures, made for a great contrast and very visually interesting. This.... Is a very light and simplistic cartoon art style both geometry and texture wise, i agree with abcdude, no where near as interesting looking graphics/art wise as generations imo. Though i suspect that is likely a visual simplicity to remove visual clutter to aid feeble human perception and reaction times for the far more involved gameplay. So in short graphics wise, no, not really galaxy from what was shown.
good platforming/controls and level design wise, absolutely. Its so galaxy 2 it gives me goose bumps. Particularly super speed yoshi segments of galaxy 2. Its so well done galaxy design wise that i actually heavily suspect nintendo ead helped make this.

I watched the trailer in a pretty low res, but... the graphics looked OUTDATED, even Mario & Sonic looks better graphically. I'm not a graphicswhore by any means, but it makes the entire game look bland, when the leveldesign looks REALLY good even though it's obviously SMG-inspired (which is okay, since Nintendo helped)

I agree, I thought that they would reinvent Sonic again from the ground up. Almost how they did when it was released on the Sega Dreamcast. I'm going to purchase for the support. Hopefully turns out better than it looks.

Nice to see Sonic Team implementing classic elements into modern Sonic games. Those old sound effects sure do bring back memories. And of course Sonic's signature running leg blur animation.

Know why they're called the Deadly Six? Because they played Sonic '06 and decided to get revenge on Sonc.
Bad joke, I know.
