It's just artwork, no in-game model.

Now I feel stupid. And looking at the Wii U screenshots of the game again, Link looks good but not nearly as good as this.

Hmmmm, looks like the new 3D Mario will have "Bros." in the name, then... Maybe there will be co-op...

 

EDIT: Or, maybe that's some other SMB game.

 

I think it will be local co-op..

 

Shiggy mentioned in an interview that they would love to do simultaneous co-op in 3D Mario but felt splitscreen would be too difficult... Could you imagine trying splitscreen multi with the galaxy games? It would be awfully hard to hit jumps right.... The Wii U gamepad makes this possible without the splitscreen.

 

We now know the next Sonic game will be two player competitive... So why not Mario? or make it co-op anyways.

Icky. I don't know if online would really fit with a Mario game... Splitscreen or same-screen multiplayer would work, though, I think.

I think Links model will improve over what we have seen tho. With the right changes/improvements this game will look amazing.

Wind Waker was an amazingly beautiful and vast game, I really can't wait to get this HD one, it's going to be beautiful

I thought Miyamoto once said he regrets that part... but I doubt they will change anything at all. They didn't with OOT3D. They did improve the Water Temple tho so there is hope!

Those arent pictures of the actual game. As was stated in the nintendo direct, those were art style concepts using old ww assets+new textures and models, and were not indictive of the actual game. No screen of the actual game has been shown.

Although this promo material is likely the model style they use in game, if not the actual model itself rendered in extremely high res (think what retro used to do for prime promo material), as they've never made or shown a ww asset like this, it was made specifically for this wwhd promo.

Notice the change in sleeve colors, eybrows over hair, and the change in lighting style from the concept pitch shown in the direct.

I think this is the model style used for wwhd, not the one shown in the direct.

I certainly hope it is. The excessive shader/gi slathered models from the direct did not sit well with me.

The "super mario bros" thing is either a place holder for the 3D mario that will be revealed in the next few days- or it is just for either new super mario bros U.... or new super luigi bros U.... yeahhh... (who cares?! GIVE ME MY 3D MARIO!!!! .-. )
