You made a really nice render of the earth. How long did it take you to do this?

See, I was serious.
*ahem*
I want to see more, keep it up. You seem to be very good at this, and your talent is unique, so show it off a little

o.O That picture is awesome!

Not much, really. About an hour including render time. Thanks, btw. I go to the w.c goodbye
Cool picture, bra.
See, I was serious.

Lol.
I definitely am going to keep it up, but I seriously doubt I did anything special. I wouldn't even call it a talent.
It's nice to be told that, though. Thanks.

Just pointing out the incredible difference between the built-in render engine and Cycles.
Seriously, the attachment system hates me.
The images have the exact same lightning scheme. Let's see who guesses why the second one looks way better

Nice renderings. Can't someone start a 3D rendering thread so that I can post some too?
Nice signature
You can make you're own thread in the museum, there's no problem with that.
ps: Thank you for reminding me of this thread, I have some stuff I need to upload. :S

Anyway, what you see right here is the result of me playing around with the ocean simulator, and faking HDRR (high dynamic range rendering), because I have no idea of how to use that
Originally was going to be a 8.3 seconds animation, but water looks like crap in the Blender internal, so I had to use Cycles and it would take about 5 days to render 250 frames
So yeah, that's it, about 3 hours of render time.
And now that I'm done with the ocean, it's time to create my sea beast >: D

It looks so real!
Hehe, ain't that hard to make tbh, you could do it in about 15 minutes
Excluding render time, of course.

First there's the sea beast, which was the reason I picked up a pencil last night
Then there is that Link model I mentioned a while ago. (I may not have mentioned it again, but that doesn't mean I stopped working on it, just lost some motivation due to the .blend file pulling a vanishing move on me )
Some other random stuff that I won't tell you about
I said a sea beast, but you'll most likely see something else before that, I tend to get distracted

Hey waller, check this tutorial out.
http://cg.tutsplus.c...r-using-cycles/
Heh, material-wise there's not much new to me, but it's a nice tut for modeling a tea set
Modeling is by far my worst skill at the 3D realm, that's why I usually make complicated materials and textures to make everything I do look better, but this really helps, thanks
And yeah, be posting my version of that soon
