Yes I know there are more than that but c'mon its obvious who are the more popular and most fan favorite over 50 of the Marvel & DC roster.

 

I never read the comicbooks until my teen years and then I got into manga more than American comicbooks but I think they were neat. I knew these characters in cartoons, Batman and Spider-Man were my favorites, Superman came close, he is all about truth and justice but Batman is more special, his origin is dark and sad and he's the most powerful superhero that is human. Spider-Man is an amazing character than can relate to alot of teens in their school life, not to mention both have awesome and memorable villains.

Anyways, none of my favorites are there.  Static is my favorite DC (originally milestone) character.  The Question (Vic Sage, not Montoya) is a close second (all incarnations, the Ditko objectivist version, the O'Neil Taoist version, the JLU conspiracy crackpot version)

It's hard to dislike some of the main marvel characters.  I like spiderman (Miles Morales is more likable than Parker, though), but my favorite is a toss up between Deadpool and Silver Surfer (especially after Silver Surfer Requiem).

The Tick is probably my favorite comic book character of all time, though.

Elric is also one of my favorite comic book characters (despite originating from books).

Exactly. I wanted to say Spawn but he wasn't DC or Marvel.

My all time favorite comic character is Spider-Man, also Batman would be my second. My favorite comics though are the Sandman comics.

In all seriouness though, Batman, Spiderman, and Elric (from Elric: the balance lost)  are my favorite super heroes. 

I'm also starting to like Wolverine and Nightcrawler.

The Incredible Hulk is probably my favourite. Mostly because I find the "jekyll/hyde" inner conflict to be very interesting as well as the fact that Bruce Banner finds his powers to be a curse more than a gift unlike most superheroes. It brought a different and fresh perspective to superheroes when i first started reading them.

My two favorites are Marvel - Doctor Strange and from DC , The Spectre - however I do love most the classics...never been a big Superman fan though.

I absolutely love Batman!! He has been my favorite superhero since I was born. My mom made me a sick Batman costume for Halloween when I was 4. I should post those pictures here one day if I can find them. The Animated Series was one of the few things me and my father loved and shared together. Batman in general just is very special to me and I would not be the person I am today without Batman in my life. Plus he is the coolest, he is a normal human and does things no other person can accomplish. He gives you the feeling like "wow I can actually be Batman if I worked hard enough" Lol.
