Now, I'm lost. Sure Nintendo is the innovator. Every generation they use the same IP but do innovative things with the IP as well as the hardware. This time around I'm scratching my head.

I expected a new innovative Mario which would once again show the world how to use the hardware and do new things with it. I was sure.

But...

Mario 3d - hd brother of 3ds version
Zelda - hd version of gc game
Kart - hd rehash of 3ds and wii version
Smash - hd version of wii game concept
Donkey - hd version of wii game concept

It's not that I didnt expect these IP's but I wanted them to feel fresh. It's like even Nintendo doesnt know what to do with the gamepad.

I'm most excited about the upgrade in miiverse drawing, and that says a lot. And yes, bayonetta, w101 and X....three external games make up for it... A bit. The 3rd party trailer was ....Damn

3D Mario - new suit, multiplayer

Zelda - new features and looks beautiful

Kart - far from a rehash, the graphics are great and there actually appears to be new

Smash - how would you know from a single trailer?

Donkey - not going to disagree here. Looks good, but Retro's game was just a disappointment.

I liked the games that were shown, I just wish there were "more" of them.

Just add in a new Metroid hd an Zelda game and I feel everyone would be in awe of the wiiu.

The worst part was the third party having no suprises (except for Oddworld).

Other than that, I was blown away by how amazing every game looked, they are not rehashes, they are sequels.

Only thing I was hoping to see more of was Yarn Yoshi and maybe one or two third party suprises.

To those disheartened to find out Retro was working on Donkey Kong... just remember... it's not like they are only ever going to make 1 game....   In fact, I bet they are in beginning stages of another project now.

What else were you expecting? Did they not announce an HD version of Windwaker in January. 

I say wait till you play the new Mario before you judge it, because it may surprise you.

I bought it before the hd version of zelda was announced.

But about Mario.....

Mario set the tone on NES
Then reinvented themselves on SNES
Showed the world what 3d gaming was on n64
Had a bad moment with sunshine
Came back with the imaginary Galaxies
Suprised me on 3ds with 3D
.....
I expected the new revolution, yes. May we as fans of a studio who's trademark is innovating and fun expect something extraordinary on a new 300+ euro console. 3d world 2 would be awesome when released on 3ds next year....but not as a WiiU flagship Mario.

That's your opinion, I think the Wii U Mario looks great and looks like a lot of fun that I could have with my family. 

But once again, I think you should hold judgement until you play it.

Who cares if they're a rehash? The virtual console got me to replay a lot of old classics. This will be better.

Um, Art Academy isn't a upgrade to Miiverse, it's a game where you draw stuff and use a screenshot of the drawing to post on miiverse.
