Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has told investors and analysts that he is fed up with inaccurate reports spread by mainstream media outlets. Iwata says his words are often taken out of context to amplify animosity. He confesses that he has no way to control the flow of information spread throughout the internet. Here’s what he had to say.

“Some media reports have, without asking or referring to official announcements, without confirming and reporting as if announced — that is, taking some of my words out of context and rewriting them to amplify animosity and reporting as if I had said it. So when considering media influence and the content of reports and whether they’d be misread, it may be refuted. So when ignoring such a report would be a big minus, I may actively respond. I cannot control information flow on the Internet. Because there may always be some very unfortunate or regrettable information transmitted, refuting would only help to spread it. I take great care in deciding how to respond so as not to upset stock holders. Nintendo Direct is most-watched not on PC, but eShop. In that way there can be a direct channel to customers. By distributing info reliably, even if there are bad reports, not as big a problem.”

That's the problem with media outlets these days. To much BIAS and not enough reporting of facts and qualified sources to back up the stories.

This isn't just happening with Nintendo, but many companies... and it spreads far outside just the gaming industry.

when your post was "Tha" I reported it. So if a mod sees it he should know that I reported before it was edited.

The media has always hated Nintendo. They have always sought for them to fail. But as you can see, Ninty is run by wonderful people, yet the media still hates them. Oh, but Microsoft is a god in the medias eyes... The media SUCKS

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

Media wants negative spin, it's what brings in the dough... unfortunately.

Okay, I think it's great and all about you making new threads on the latest Nintendo news, but you could at least tell us your own input. Instead of just copying and pasting the words from a news article and also posting the link. That's just what I think anyways.

You spend time complaining about OP not commenting on the topic and yet you write no opinion of your own. LMAO.

I think the issue lies with the fact that most people now especially gamers are pretty clued up on specs, hardware etc Nintendo still have not given the specs of the WiiU yet but while Iwata/Nintendo say that the spec doesn't matter, well yes it does, because all this does is make people question them & guestimate, it also looks like they have something to hide, if the WiiU can come close to the PS4 & X1 graphically then put together a tech demo  that runs on a high-end PC & also on the WiiU.

Nintendo's problem is that they are to inward looking, ok the first party games mostly look & play well but it's ok them saying 'we can get the best out of the system' but what about everyone else & thats the problem, they are shooting themselves in the foot, if the PS4 & X1 didn't  need 7GB & 5GB RAM for just gaming why would they have it, can Nintendo get a PS4/X1 game running on the WiiU with it's 1GB of gaming RAM, because if they can lets see it, they give everyone the ammunition & then moan when it gets fired back at them.

I know right?

But this is the reason for Directs and a change at what they do at E3. They are tired of being misdirected. This way if we complain we are complaining for what they actually do wrong.

It doesn't. If you think that replying to my comment complaining if it helps out the forum or not is significant, it is not. Honestly, the only reason I said what I first said was because in this past week; I would click on a new thread and from the poster all I see is a big box of paragraphs/sentences of a quote on which they got the news from with no input on what they thought about it . It just got bland to me so I spoke out, do you understand now?

My only reply is that Sony and Microsoft only told us what they wanted to hear. They didn't tell us what amount of ram is used for games. So what is better. Being told specs that in some cases don't matter, or nit being told the specs?

And what does it matter that Nintendo told us specs or not? As long as the games look good, that's what matters.

As far as I know, the specs I am talking about - speed of the processor, exactly which GPU was chosen, how much RAM games will use - has not officially been given. What we were told is the processor is a customized Jaguar APU, which is a fairly weak processor considering what Intel and IBM have, and that it has 8 cores.

That's not enough info to determine what it can or can't do. But it makes people who think they know stuff about tech to say "Oh, it has 8 cores and Nintendo has three!".

So, really, Microsoft and Sony hasn't fully given the specs. Just enough to make us say ooh and wwooow.

Ooooooh and wow....

Definately not the right words from the systems that were supposed to be powerhouses. The i5 i got for my wife a while ago will smoke the ps4/xbone with just a couple bucks dropped into a gpu.

a "couple bucks"? hmm. And how long will this magical gpu for a couple of bucks continue to play the latest games? 7 years?

easily. The cpu is magnitudes more powerful than the lowest common denominator that is already holding back the next generation (jaguar, a tablet cpu), and the graphics can easily be scaled to meet acceptable performance.

a current on the market low to midrange dx11 or even 10 compatable gpu will last the entire gen because ps4/xbone, the most powerful consoles are so weak, (about 40-50x weaker than the ballpark studios like dice expected) and will be the baseline of the entire gen.

The golden age of pc's leveraging their power to make games that just cant be done on consoles is over. Now, games are made for consoles, and the leftover scraps are given to pc gamers, and if they are lucky, maybe, MAYBE the xbox ui explanation shown on loading screens will be changed to a kbm one.

My gaming rig is becoming increasingly pointless. Hell, the last game I played on it was Anna, which was totally awesome, but my wifes i5 could run it just fine with the intel integrated graphics solution, no gpu even required there.
