Shocking, seems that this was a sudden decision of Mattrick, or else he wouldn't have been so active at the Xbox One reveal or E3

 

UPDATE: Zynga has confirmed in a press release that former Microsoft Entertainment and Devices boss Don Mattrick has been named Chief Executive Officer of the PC software company. He will also sit on Zynga's Board of Directors. Both positions take effect next Monday, July 8, 2013.

Zynga is a mobile/facebook game company that created Farmville.

Apparently Zynga has a massive deficit due to poor spending, and is doing REALLY badly. Why he would go to a dying company, I don't know.

in my country, they also say, he left because of extremely poor pre-orders...!  They don't sell at all.  XBOX-ONE is not selling and many devs (indies) abandoned it.

 

They also say, Microsoft now will have a huge problem, because this guy is from a very high placement inside the company and their investors will feel insecure.
