Soulcalibur 2 is coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as an HD Remaster. Titled Soulcalibur 2 HD Online, the game is slated for release this fall on Xbox Live and PSN.  

 

During Namco Bandai’s panel at Comic-Con, where they announced the game, Namco also showed that Heihachi from Tekken will be in the game.  

 

Originally, Heihachi was only in the PlayStation 2 version of SoulCalibur 2, while the Gamecube got Link from The Legend of Zelda and the Xbox got Todd McFarlane’s Spawn.

 

 

While good news for Soul Calibur fans, those who enjoyed the GCN version won't be getting a Wii U version, and no Wii U version means no playing online as Link.

So, essentially, the Wii U gets neither third party titles that are designed for the PS3 and 360 nor third party titles that are designed for the PS4 and XBO.

 

That's just bad. =/ Especially considering Soul Calibur 2 was originally on the GCN and even had Link as an exclusive character.

Funnily enough, the Gamecube version of SC2 sold the most copies. Heh.

 

Oh well, guess I'll pick it up on PS3.

Wow that is really bad, cause everyone, and i mean EVERYONE who played and knows SC2 its because Link was in the game. Every SC2 video you go its always a comment about Link introduced them to SC.

Oh man I love the SC series, started playing from the very first game (Soul Blade) and was instantly hooked. SCII is by far my favorite. I was ecstatic when they announced exclusive characters and gasp, LINK WAS THE GC EXCLUSIVE! Hands down my favorite version of the three (GC>Xbox>PS2 IMO). 

Awesome news but alas, I do wish they would of considered re-releasing it on WiiU.

That's just pitiful. I know I was one of the people who bought SC II for Link.

Obviously link isn't in the hd version because heihachi is their own character, so they can include him in the game without having to have any copyright issues or permissions, like they would have if they wanted to include link or spawn.

Soul Calibur isn't my favorite fighting series, but this is definitely a solid game.

Hey it's happened in the past with other games! How bout Call of Duty where it's always announced for Nintendo later on?

You would think that because the original sold the best on Gamecube they would go out and announce it right away.

I'm pretty much sick of Soul Calibur now and I'm not too bothered about this game. I'm having a great time playing Injustice Gods Amongst Us right now which is a great game and very refreshing. Soul Calibur, Tekken, BlazeBlue and Street Fighter are all getting old now and pretty boring.
