When the Wii U was first revealed, some people were confused as to whether the console was brand new or simply an add-on for the Wii. Things have become clearer since then, but the uncertainty hasn’t dissipated completely.
Retailer giant Target seems to be among those who remain confused about the Wii U – at least if a recent ad is to go by.
A new ad posted online indicates that Target used a Wii console to show the Wii U. As you can see in the photo above, a GamePad controller sits on top of a Wii system – not a Wii U console

They could've even just slapped a picture from Google. It's not difficult to find out things.

and this is why the wii u isnt doing good. Everyone things its just a controller for the wii.

Same thing happens with the 3ds they thought it was just a ds with 3d added to it. Alot of people at gamestop where even trying to buy 3ds games for there ds and the sells people had to sit down and explain it to them. Happen alot.

Well Nintendo deserves it. Calling the console "Wii" with a "U" slapped on top of it.

 

Nintendo HD, or simply The Nintendo would have been classic and had less confusion. 

 

I am still curious to this day did Nintendo even ask hard-core Nintendo fans what the next console should be called? Or did they simply just meet up in a room with 10 clueless guys in suits and agree upon "Wii U." I mean who really pitched that name and had everyone in the meeting room nodding their heads. What does the "U" stand for? Underpowered? Uninspiring? Unwated? Undesirable? Unappealing? Useless? Just kidding the "U" supposedly stands for "you."
