Have they even started on Metroid for the Wii U?

I wonder how fans would react if there was no Metroid planned for Wii U at all.

Why do people think that the new DK is "just the Wii Version with HD graphics" so assume it didn't take a lot of work? It's doesn't work like that.

Same as when people say the same about any game that contains a certain red-hatted fatass.
People judge games based on who's in it, not logic.

I have a feeling that Metroid might become the next Nintendo-franchise to fall into the pit of "why arent they making a new one?!"- games.

I hope Nintendo gets more dev teams so they can have close to half of their franchises getting sequels regularly.

no, mostly because Metroid is more of a prestige series than a money-maker. It's not a blockbuster despite what its fanbase likes to think.
