Since it was the FIRST day, of the semester, you would think that your Professor would go easy on you.. nope not this one. He's from Hell. He wants us to go to a local elementary school (teaching major) and do 15 hours there observing kids. We also have our first rough draft paper due on 9/9 that is equivalent to a mid term and requires a lot of research and studying these different topics. We also have to learn a new format write it in, and have a bibliography. The elementary school stuff is worth 15% of the grade too. Ugh. Kill me seriously. The dude also was a CEO for some companies and is an assistant principal now.

 

This semester will be hard.

I'm afraid I can't really relate. I start on the 4th and have only three classes this semester (I flunked them before and have to retake them so I can finish and graduate). But have fun! If you can do that, teaching is going to be a breeze.

Is he the only professor that teaches the course for what you're studying? Also, check out Ratemyprofessor.com. It shows the average rating from students who have taken classes from a professor. It gives you a heads up.

A lot of my professors were like that.

You get to choose your classes, take some easy ones to chill in.

I had 1 class a year that was pretty easy, luckily enough as we don't choose our classes like you do.

I think I can kind of see some logic... He could be teaching you that you have to hit the ground running when school starts, and how to handle school children. You can't just go "free icecreme to the most behaved" because they're sneaky devils.
