Needless to say when Nintendo becomes profitable they'll have to make a huge apology to Nintendo

They won't; thing is Western 3rd parties are too proud and arrogant to admit fault with anything. When the 3DS bounced back not one Western 3rd party went back to it despite the system being an easy gold mine. Indie devs have been more accommodating, but the major 3rd parties seem to be more interested in bankrupting themselves

We need another crash.

The funny thing is the previous crash was ALSO caused by Western 3rd parties who had no clue what the hell they were doing. 3rd parties like to Daisy about Nintendo's strict policies back then, but they also like to gloss over the fact that Nintendo had those for a VERY good reason. With the previous crash, 3rd parties proved that they couldn't be trusted to do quality control on their own so Nintendo FORCED them into it. 3rd parties, if left to their own devices, have no restraint and end up digging themselves into holes. Which means Nintendo's policies back then might STILL be the correct way to go.

But wouldn't a crash at that scale hinder everyone including Nintendo?

Another third party kicking themselves very soon for lack of foresight.

The Wii U launch was bad.  It had no compelling games to say "hey! the next gen is here and you need this!"

Nothing but quick ports and unambitious "just get it out the door" first party games that were upgraded Wii or 3DS games.

Then Pikmin hit. Boom.  Made a statement and angered the haters who didn't want to admit the Wii U was a next gen console with great graphics and innovation going on.

Then Wind Waker HD. A remake, sure, but the perfect game to do so with.  And it's ZELDA. Boom. Systems are selling.

Next, Donky Kong is coming... I can hear the faint whistle of incoming.

Then Mario... A fainter whistle, but it's there.

Third party Call of Duty is a given. No need to jump ship.

Watch Dogs is a given. Ditto.

Just in time for the holidays.

Then, when the holiday euphoria has worn off and wii U owners are looking for more, Mario Kart. X, and the legend grows...

glad I've already got the Wii U. Less time to worry about console purchases and more time to worry about buying games.

The thing about third parties avoiding the wii U is that they are really inept.  Basically, they take their games to x1 and ps4 where... billions of other games compete in the same genres.

Whereas, on the Wii U, they can literally own certain genres and be THE standard in that realm.  Instead, they worry about Skyrim competing with Kirby...

Yeah, good luck with that.

Here's hoping there are some wiser discussions going on behind closed doors with some of these third parties. it would be great to see their games on Wii U. No doubt.  But if not, there are plenty of great ones incoming. They are hurting gamers with this stuff, but it may be likely the biggest victims of their shenanigans are themselves. Nintendo gamers can be fiercely loyal, to the degree that if the game isn't on Nintendo hardware, it doesn't belong in the house.

Yes, but in the end we would have better games, instead of pretty visuals.

Except Nintendo is so smart and careful with its finances and decisions that they've stored up a giant war chest and could actually weather a crash if it happened. Other companies could not and would have to do major restructuring just to keep afloat. Nintendo could afford to keep ALL their employees and even expand. It's that foresight that has let them be around so long.

I see mention of the  "throwing money for best version" in a way i see this as something that should be  illegal. Might as well be crippling their games on the other versions too! (though some companies i freelanced for DID do this)

it would be diffrent if they asked them or financed them to make use of a tech that only their system has to highlight it such as the wii u gamepad or kinect.

I revisited the PS4 launch and launch window games and I am slightly impressed

http://m.ign.com/wik...4_Launch_Titles

Also Final Fantasy 14 is supposed to be out in February.

I mean good Lord. .. there 2 MMO's available if you are into that. ...I am' I have ff14 on ps3.

Anyway this will be a monster launch. Sony did this part right. Now let's see who makes more money.

all those mmo's are already on pc though, and  the unimpressive thing  is most of everything else is not exlusive at all.

That is valid BUT...I for one do not game on PC and I like to get the best version available. I have a Wii u, ps 3, Xbox 360 and if course a PS 4 coming. ..

Point being there are still alot of options available on launch day.

Those other options are true but they are still new games, not 1 year old ports. Big difference.

Did I mention 2 mmo's?

The support far outweighs the Wii U.

the wii u has 1 mmo. Although its only in japan and transparently is lacking in quality. Atleast its exclusive and shows that MMO gaming is viable.

That is cool. What is the mmo? I vaguely remember something about that. To bad it isn't here. I like transparent mmo's.

But seriously ff14 obviously has alot if content and will grow. There are problems on the PS3 version.

But what is cool you can use your characters on pc, ps3 or ps4 when that is available, which obviously will be better.
