I know, but companies could update some games like Killzone to use the shoulder buttons and clickable sticks instead of the touchscreen/pad, or they could use a PS4 controller in the future.I don't think there'll be split screen.
And apparently it doesn't even play all the games for the Vita http://www.jp.playst...ame/psvitalist/
Also remember, it won't have the touchscreen or the touchpad on the back, so that ruins some games a bit.

The thing is, how are you going to draw a circle using the shoulder buttons? You're not. That's why there are some Vita games that won't be supported.

I know. I was referring to games like Resistance Burning Skies and how the touchpad was used to emulate the shoulder buttons. For anything else, they could just use a PS4 controller. The thing is, how are you going to draw a circle using the shoulder buttons? You're not. That's why there are some Vita games that won't be supported.

This also includes digital PSP games and PS1 Classics, so you actually have a lot od gases at launch to choose from.
That is the reason many people still own a PSP and not a Vita.

So let me see if I understand all this correctly:
Sony has the PS3 and the Vita
Vita is marketed as a console experience on the go
Vita gets a bunch of console ports that feel like they would be better on a console, and don't do many new things
Your average Sony fan (Note that I said "average", there are exceptions) already has a PS3, and doesn't care for the bells and whistles like touch controls, so it doesn't sell well
In Japan, Nintendo attains MH, effectively taking the Vita's best chance at a killer app in it's home country, really hurting its sales and thus developer support
Sony has many games brought to the Vita to substitute for that loss, but still lacks a system seller, it continues to sell poorly
Sony announces PS4
States that you can play your PS4 games remotely on your vita with WiFi
This would likely induce lag issues and reduce the "Graphics" of your PS4 game, and turns the Vita into an expensive PS4 accessory
Vita still doesn't have a lot of games to call it's own, so to get the most out of your Vita, you need a PS4, greatly increasing the overall price
Sony cuts the cost of the Vita and its (Stupidly expensive) memory cards. This is a very good move, but unique games are still needed
Sony announces Vita TV
Gives you access to PSN items and games
can have PS4 games also streamed to it like the VIta, may have minor lag issues, yet to be seen
Can play Vita games on the TV, of course this may very well make them look horrendous due to being blown up on a large screen, and your average Sony fan cares greatly about graphics
Can't play ALL vita games, since some use the touch screen, and making games on a vita that doesn't use it's features feels like a waste of putting it on the Vita over the home consoles
Your average sony fan still doesn't have a need to pay $100 so they can stream their PS4 games to another TV, as they probably have a separate TV dedicated to gaming in their house
The casual consumer will probably never hear of this device, and if they do they won't have incentive to buy it since they don't care about PSN stuff
They don't care care about playing PS4 and Vita games on it either
So the Vita has basically become a PS4 accessory. The VTV is a PS4 accessoryThe only thing about this that makes me think it has some appeal is that its like a much cheaper vita. However, it can't play all Vita games, blows up the visuals, and takes the portable out of portable gaming.
Someone please explain to me what Sony's plan is, because I'm not convinced they have one when it comes to the Vita and VTV. I really want someone to tell me what it is about this thing that makes it a great idea. Please, anyone, show me what I'm not understanding.
(I watched IGN's video on it (http://www.ign.com/v...station-vita-tv) and I couldn't stop laughing when it starts and said the video was brought to you by The Wonderful 101. Well played, Nintendo.)
