Anyone know if the battery capacity of the gamepad will deplete over time if you leave it plugged in even while it's fully charged?  Just wondering if it's safe to charge overnight.

I keep mine plugged in all the time and haven't had a problem.

It should be okay. But you should know that every battery, no matter how good it is, gets depleted over time. A good battery should last at least 500 charges.

It does generally wear them out quicker if you leave them plugged in all the time rather than let them drain to low then charge them back up.

However I see no point worrying about it as if you DON'T leave it on charge then it will run out quicker today, due to discharging when not in use.  So all you are doing is avoiding the battery having a reduction in capacity in the future, by making it have a reduced capacity today by not keeping it charged.  What is the gain exactly?

It's actually letting batteries drain to 0% that wears out them quickly.

I leave my Wii U Gamepad always in the charging cradle. Don't notice a difference.

It does. It's just hard to use.

Its designed for trickle charge. Its meant to be always plugged in when not in use via the charging cradle. It shuts itself off, and then only trickles enough charge to stay full.

Actually I think thats only Lithium Ion batteries. Is the gamepad Li-on? I don't know.

It's not possible to overcharge any device in this day and age. This includes the Wii U Gamepad.

If you're like me and you haven't used it for a week then try using it and the last time you used it it had like full battery, it would be dead...

It does. It's just hard to use.

Hard in that it's still broken from some phantom thing feld0 did about 3 weeks ago.

you cannot over charge it, it will take as much power as it needs.
