I also think that Assassins Creed 4 would be a great example for showing the graphic power.

Not really, even the ps4 version is near identical looking to the 360 version.
Well I saw some gameplay and it looked pretty real to me!

It's funny how every AC4 video you get top comments saying that "the next-gen versions look bad because of youtube".
Well, someone's going to be disappointing.

PS4 build and 360 build comparison. Anyone know how Wii U compares to the PS4 build here?

why does she keeps calling it "next gen"? and isn't this the crappy channel adam sessler is in? so they finally got a free ps4 because he cried like a ittle girl?

The Wii U version is exactly the same as the 360 version, although with better colors and contrast.
(Note: The Wii U footage is from a stream, while the 360 is from direct capture. Both console run at 720p @ 30 fps, but Wii U updacles everything to 1080p)

Just like Nintendo fanboys when giving the "crappy port" excuse. The system can't do much more than that. Deal with it.

From what I saw the Wii U version has the next-gen weather effects (rain).
Not sure about lighting but I would expect the Wii U to have that, it really does look much more realistic and natural in some places which oddly most of the footage doesn't seem to show. For example one shot I saw was the sun shining through the sails on the ship with the wind blowing those sails. On current-gen it looked dull with static sails, on PS4 the physics on the sails looked totally natural and the way the sun was shining through, blooming slightly around the edges, looked VERY realistic.
Those are the sorts of differences that I expected on a cross-gen game and to me at least make a huge difference. I don't get why people are disappointed with it, its exactly the sort of thing I would upgrade my PC graphics card to gain and if that is what they can do on short notice with a current-gen game I think it bodes well for genuine next-gen titles.

Why? It's still the truth. I'm sorry, but the system can't really do much more than that. There's still room for improvement of course, which is a good thing, but not enough to make everyone's jaws drop.
Sniper Elite V2 is crappy port, Mass Effect 3 is a crappy port. AC IV however, is not.
I have a Wii U and I definitely didn't buy it to be "the next powerhouse". I bought it because it was different. Graphics are not my priority any more, and I enjoy it so much more this way.

Shadow maps are actually worse on the Wii U version, and from what we saw in that footage there's no dynamic foliage from the PS4 and Xbox One versions, so I wouldn't get my hopes up for better weather effects (just stop calling it "next gen", it's just ridiculous PR bs).

Thumbs up to this. Before I just thought that you should give people the freedom to be Nintendo fanboys on a site like this. We take enough of a beating on the non-platform-specific sites and I don't see anything wrong with blowing off a little steam here or being able to take extra pride in the console, even if it's a bit irrational at times.

Except this is a thread specifically about graphics power. If you do not want to discuss the Wii Us graphics power then don't come into the thread.
I didn't buy Wii U for its graphical prowess either, it was for a HD console running Nintendo games with their excellent art direction. But some people wanted the Wii U to be their ONLY console, for them its clearly disappointing that some multi-platform titles are not getting the best out of the console.

Shadow maps up close are pretty distracting... Especially in that laying on the beach cutscene. But its also really bad on ps360, its pretty obvious they are sharing the same resources.. I think they may have some kind of filtering on the 360 version... or its the streams compression helping out, either way its not enough to hide those horrible shadow jaggies up close.
However, the wii u version actually does have some improvements. Sharper textures is an easy one to spot, the ocean water has the xtra layers and effects from the ps4 version, and while I can tell there are more differences, i cant really put my finger on it without comparing feeds from the same tv, with the same capture device.
But There are differences. Actually about 4Gb worth. The wii u versions download is 4Gb larger than the 360ps3 download.
One thing I also noticed is that the Wii U shares the same blood textures with the PS4 and One versions. Wounds are more noticeable. Minor stuff.
Other than that, the PS4 and One version only have higher resolution textures. Lightning is the same, although with better shadow maps. However, intense wheather effects and dynimic fooliage are still absent from the Wii U version.
The extra 4 GB are probably due to Nintendo's crappy compression system. Extra Wii U assets should take no more than 100 MB.
