I was actually thinking of breaking bad
But what is it about?
A high school chemistry teacher who gets cancer and cooks meth to provide for his family.
It is the greatest show since The Sopranos. Watch it.
Also The Walking Dead and Arrested Development are both great too.

I strongly suggest Mystery Science Theater 3000. The episodes are extremely long for a tv show, but every minute's great and hilarious especially if you love campy sci-fi films. I'd also suggest Comic Book Men, Firefly, and Regular Show.
On the hunt for her dad's killer, she learns she needs to step up her game. It's time to unleash some superpowers. - Netflix's amazing Kill La Kill description

I like Fringe. In that show LSD is quite often the solution to a problem.
Breaking bad might be ok, but you have to try to get through the first episode first.
Weeds is similar to breaking bad (plot wise), but it's funnier.
I enjoyed watching Kingdom. That has Stephen Fry in it.

May be a bit late, but...
I'd be a little bit apprehensive about watching Breaking Bad. It's not a bad show, but it's really frustrating to watch because of how slow and heavy-handed it is. Most of the time I was thinking "okay, I get it already, can we move on to something actually interesting? I'm not here to watch a family drama, especially not one as boring as this one" or "Okay, I get already, you want me to feel for this character, and what just happened to him really does suck, but screw you for trying to force me into feeling things"
The show has no subtlety at all.
I mean, you'll probably enjoy it because it does get pretty fun sometimes, but don't expect anything near the quality of The Sopranos, The Wire, or, well, pretty much any HBO show.
Other than that, i don't have much to add because I don't really see Netflix TV Shows. My brother is really hooked on Parks and Recreation and The Office (UK Version, of course. I don't think I've ever seen an American remake of anything that didn't suck) though, so maybe you'll like those?

I only watch movies on Netflix.
Best movies I've seen on it are Warrior and Shutter Island. A huge list of crap is on there too I don't have time to list.
New in today is Videogame: The Movie.
