The short story is that Xbox Live and the OS, especially in functions that involve XBL, are a complete mess. One source says we aren’t talking weeks until it works correctly but “months.” Things like parties dropping people when moving from one thing to another. Connectivity issues. Missed invites. Friend requests not working, etc.

I asked if could be fixed soon. He said that anything is possible and Microsoft is obviously working on it but he thinks it will be months, not weeks. Getting online launch games certified is taking so long that it’s pushing games after launch back.

Lol at people who believe this... They have shown the OS a ton lately. If they actually had problems they wouldn't be showing it at all. They are a professional Multi Billion dollar corporation. Im 100 percent sure they wont ship a gimped broken product.

I heard in a years time they will be release a .1 update and include a start icon.

It might be rumour but i bet there is some true to it.

I can see them pushing launch back a little bit or disabling things on launch and promising them 3months later with an update.

but it is what it is. the wii u had a big day one update and its not unheard of to have them just sucks and means things where rushed.

The more I read the closer I get to canceling my xbox one preorder I had killzone ps4 bundle preordered but i canceled that like an idiot. I love both systems always have and love the games coming to the box but all this stuff i read and the fact it can't even run cod which isn't that much of a graphic pushing game in 1080p sucks too. How the hell can it run forza 5 in 1080p 60 fps and look beautiful but it can't do call of duty.

From what little of the article I read, the problem has nothing to do with the Operating System, but to do with xbox live being a pile of rainbow.
And it's a pile of rainbow right now because the developers ARE OBVIOUSLY ON DEVELOPMENT SERVERS and the console isn't going to get released for a while, along with those servers currently in use being updated for x1 use.
