We all know the PS4 is the most powerful console out of the three, we also know that the WiiU is the lowest one, but does it really matter? 1st party titles will be great on all three but they don't help to compare screen shots and up to now we have a very limited few cross title games to look at.

 

Don't forget the PS4 screen capture feature is crap as it uploads to Twitter or Facebook so i tried to find to higher quality shots to look at, also the res is going to be lower on WiiU but see for your self if it's such a big deal now days???

I tried to catch the exact same moment on WiiU and failed lol.

They look better on ps4 and in person you can tell the difference, granted it's not head and shoulders better tho. Still those games were made for current gen not next gen which wiiu and ps4 are.

Ghosts looks identical, Black Flag is a slightly different photo with different lighting etc, the other one with the explosions and stuff is a photo from a different time to the PS4 version, granted it still looks a little worse, but the main thing it's missing is lense flare.

And honestly I hate lense flare.

 

Edit: it's not really lense flare, but just brighter lighting :/

I'd say games are looking about twice as good on PS4 as Wii U. However, since the console is about 4x as powerful as the Wii U, you do start to see diminishing returns.

It is, but I own both a PS4 and Wii U and when you pay attention to small detail, it tends to matter.

2x would be more like comparing say resident evil on the gamecube vs resident evil revelations on the PS3.

That's a massive leap. So going by your comparison, my PS4 might look 25% better.

Not really the best to compare multiplats though :/ better would be to compare exclusives, problem is a good game to compare for ps4 would be killzone but wii u doesn't really have any fps exclusives apart from zombi u and we all know who would win graphically there

I am pretty sure WiiU could not do Killzone without dropping the graphics down a good dose.

My Ghosts carrier pic is about one to two seconds later than the PS4 picture but is in the exact same angle.

1st party studio vs 3rd party studio. Nintendo doesnt have a 1st party FPS military style shooter but i am willing to bet if they let Retro take a shot at one with a decent budget on an engine ground up for Wii U it would look significantly better than Ghost and hold its own against killzone.

Yes, the PS4 does look 25% better IMO.

I'm still barely able to tell a difference in any of the pictures (except the bottom one, which the Wii U can definitely do since the 360 and PS3 have done scenes that looked better than that).

This is ignoring resolution, too. Because if you count the resolution you realise just how many more pixels you're seeing.

Yeah the pics don't make that much of a difference but in person they look better on ps4. Still I think those games don't really show either systems true power since those games are essentially ports. Just look at nba2k14 started ground up on ps4/1 and it looks way better than current gen. So yeah till games start on next gen we will honestly be able to really tell the difference between both systems.

Not that i am a fan of them but digital foundry just did a comparison of Batman Arkham Origins and Wii U is in last place again. It seems like 3rd parties are doing this on purpose. outsourcing Wii U ports to teams that have no idea what thehardware can do. The negativity wont stop but at least We have 3dworld coming in 5 days. Official nintendo magizine said it "MAKES EVERYONE ELSE LOOK LIKE THEY HAD HD ALL WRONG". Nintendo is just getting started with this highly customized little beast cant wait until 2014.

ps360 ports are a very poor choice to try and make any comparison on either system... They are.... ps360 games

True but until ground up cross platform games that don't include PS360 turn up this is all we have for now.

Something I don't understand with the Wii U version. Why is the saturation so low compared to the PS4 version? 

 

 

I just added saturation +30 (probably a bit to high )

 

Doesn't that look already a bit better? Ofcourse the Wii U doesn't have the high res textures the PS4 has.

I've played a bit of ghosts multiplayer on wiiu and to be honest it looks like poop, blops 2 looked better. I haven't seen ps4 gameplay but im tempted to buy it and see what it looks like.
