Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman in the untitled “Batman vs. Superman” movie.

Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck are set to star with Zack Snyder directing.

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character,” Snyder said.

Bad casting. WW needs to be a strong looking woman and tall and has a commanding presence. This casting is just a super model to be the mgean fox of the film.

Anybody knows who she is?

She's a beautiful Israeli woman. Not well known YET.

Was in the last fast ands furious movie.

She looks like the Wonder Women in the most recent DC animations.

She's a bit skinny. Maybe they'll put her on some roids.

Cavill was perfect. I think gardot will be as well. Now if only they could have affleck play batmans butler instead...

You'd think that since DC is actually under the same umbrella as a movie company they'd have better movies than marvel, but nope...

So gardot as Wonder Woman seems pretty faithful. Just dye her hair. Get her lifting some weights and she's good. She looks exactly like Wonder Woman from the recent dc animated movies.

Actually I could tell she (at least) wasn't full white from the first look :S

Also, Nick Fury is black because when they were creating him for the Ultimate universe, they specifically modelled him after Samuel L. Jackson.

And even if things turn out ok when they choose an actor that doesn't really look like them but plays the role well, wouldn't it be better if they picked someone who looked almost exactly like them, and also acted the role well?

But wonder woman has never even had her own movie before. I'm not saying they should follow Marvel's strategy exactly, but it certainly worked didn't it? Throwing lots of big characters into a film together without setting up their stories first is a mistake.

 

As soon as batman vs superman was announced I had my doubts about it. To me it looks like DC/WB saw the success of avengers and thought "we need to do a justice league film now".

ever read The Dark Knight Returns/Strikes Back books? Wonder Woman plays a huge part in the second book, and I'm hoping this is the way it's going. I said the same thing, gosh she's tiny to play Wonder Woman. I guess we'll see

Yeah she did, but I don't count any of these terrible movies from the 70s.

 

It's like Stan Lee not counting the Spider-Man tv show because it was an embarrassment.

Well to be fair like 99% of DC's movies are terrible, and probably shouldn't be counted either
