If you want realism look out a window. Better than any console or PC. Sick of the realism crap,it's not 1997 anymore where realism in gaming is a new thing. We have plenty realism in games already. It's nice to see style and creativity for a change. Instead of generic  FPS #1 or generic military #2 and so on. Graphics age. Aesthetics are forever IMO.

And Windwaker is proof. It still looks awesome while all games that everyone praised for graphics are almost painful compared to current games.

thats fine i was just saying thats the reason naysayers can easily say Mario3dworld can be done on PS360. Majority of games like an Uncharted/Last of Us, MGS4 are based around realistic characters and environments. Those are the games this generation of gamers are accustomed to seeing. Me personally i would love to see Nintendo 1st party make a game in that same vein... WHY? I believe Nintendo devs are the BEST on the planet better than any other group of devs.... but i dont feel like they are being pushed. I love Mario, Zelda, DK, and other Nintendo IP's. I do want something new something that pushing boundaries for storytelling, and technical/animation/graphics. I feel like Nintendo devs dont get the credit they deserve because we see some much mario, zelda etc. I want something FUN but also Modern and pushes the system and the developers in the limelight.

and that is the most obvious problem Nintendo has. Their software lineup is filled with more cartoon/colorful artstyle rather than realistic. So it is easier for Naysayers to say 3dworld can be done on 7th gen and nothing is special about it. IMO "X" coming in 2014 has really big standards to live up to it is set in a realistic worlds and characters so people are gonna judge that more hardly.

MS nor Sony balances it out either. It's 90% gore,guns,realism.

Do they have more "cartoon" like games yes but the other stuff overwhelms it. Nintendo is the opposite. People want Nintendo to do less of the same and be different but do more of the same the others do. Wonderful logic.

 

Nintendo is great at what they do and do not need to change. The people who want them to change are the ones that Nintendo with those stylish games is not targeting. Not saying just families or kids either. Just people no matter what who want those games. If you don't then play something else and stop asking them to change. I like style so instead of wasting time begging Sony to make more games that cater to my tastes I just play the games that cater to me that someone else will offer.
