PG I doubt wants to be part of a big company again and feel restricted. Those 2nd party comments turned out to be some mistranslation I think.

Nintendo should buy Shin'en and Next Level Games. I would love for them to buy Mistwalker. Above anyone else for me,Mistwalker and let them be them like they have with Monolith.

Can you imagine most the best talent that made Squaresoft in the 90's working for Nintendo? We Have Brownie Brown and Monolith but then the Father of Final Fantasy as well? Then a Monolith/Mistwalker collaboration! Holy mint smelling farts Batman!...*pant* sorry fanboygasm....

Next Level Games is working for Nintendo now.

Get a Final Fantasy VII remake exclusive for Nintendo.

Yeah like THAT will ever happen. :P

PS: A true FFVII remake would actually make me buy a console just to play that on, are you listening Sony?

Nintendo should buy Sega-Sammy, Capcom and Namco Bandai.

Nintendo would sign Microsoft's death warrant with that. Because with Nintendo's guidance, both Capcom and Sega would kill everyone in it's path.

^_^

*cough* Rareware *cough

NO. Rare isn't what it use to be.

Nintendo don't have that kind of money.

Nintendo could poop enough money to buy Capcom. I'd imagine Sega wouldn't be too much. Not sure about Namco though.

But I'm not sure who else they should buy. All the good, and likely ideas, are mentioned here.

What would be ground breaking is a merger of Sony and Nintendo, or even Apple and Nintendo. Both never will happen, but if we are wishing ... That's what I would wish for lol.

With you on that one. For next gen a NintendoStation would be awesome, all Sony and Nintendo's exclusives with every third party game under the sun. That would sell.

Nintendo would never be so stupid as to merge with a company which is reportedly in dire financial straits.

The PS4 is Sony's only real success story of the last few years, they seem to be losing a lot of money from the TV, Laptop and film divisions from what I've read.

Apparently Sony have had to sell one or two of their HQ buildings just to stay afloat, now if that's true, then why on Earth would Nintendo want to merge with Sony?

It's been reported that an increasing number of Microsoft investors want them to leave the games industry altogether and focus on their core strengths which is something.

Also I fail to see why there is so much hate for Microsoft? I can't say I'm a massive fan of the Xbox brand, but the less competition in any industry the worse state the industry will be in as a result.

Also if any company is in trouble of falling out of the industry it's Sony due to their reported financial woes and Nintendo who seem to be hell bent on making themselves irrelevant in the home console market with their continued obession with gimmicks and now an apparent obsession with smartphone and tablet nonsense.

It's funny, the Xbox brand has been the only console that the respective owners have ever discussed selling. The sooner Xbone flops the better and Microsoft can go back to making Window's, or whatever crap they do best.

Sony and Nintendo merging is plausable, Sony has yet to crack the handheld market and Nintendo have should signs of being interested in the mobile/tablet market. It would benefit everyone including gamers.

Butthurt tears would be pouring from Microsoft and their deluded fanboys.

You're delusional if you think it's possible that Nintendo would merge with Sony.

Actually, I think I platinum metroid could turn out very well. Platinum sticks to action brands because, aside from them being the nest of the best at making that sick gameplay, its actually much cheaper and easier to manage than say, a level 3-4 open world game like the metroid series. Which means they can afford to give it the polish to get noticed... That they wouldnt be able to do in a metroid/zelda style world.

However, thats not to say they cant do it, they are actually pretty damn good at it.

They can do everything team ninja brought to the table, better than team ninja, and they have the open world design mentality from Okami team ninja couldnt  possibly hope to ever match. With Nintendo guidance, it could be holy balls amazing.

None of the big three should go. Nintendo gives people a good alternative, to MS and Sony. Sony appeal to the more mature gamer who read newspapers, and drink wine, MS appeal to teenagers and "bros" who smoke pot, drink budweiser, make homophobic comments and generally d*ck around, and Nintendo is primarily there for parents with young children, and gamers who have been so jaded with "mature gaming" just want to have fun again, while occasionally having our mature nipples massaged with Metroid, Zelda and Xenoblade to name a few.

I'll have fun again when Nintendo actually gets around to releasing more games.

By the time they realise X, Super Smash Bros and the other games they have planned, I'll be collecting my pension.

Okami to me in many ways improved the Zelda formula which Nintendo has still not done. Mainly the smooth transition of overworld to dungeon. What I loved is that half the time you didn't know you wandered into a dungeon until partway through it was challening but relaxing at the same time. For me Zelda I enjoy it but it's black and white from overworld to dungeon and dungeon design is so obvious a blind man ina room full of ninjas could see it.  Okami to me to this day is Capcoms most polished game.  PG could make a fantastic Zelda game.

Thematically the allisions to zelda are strong.

World progression design wise, particularly what you specifically brought up, Okami is very metroid.

Of course, they would also do a wonderful job at zelda as well, okami, zelda and metroid are all 3-4's on the linearity-non linear scale. (although recent entries have sipped to 2-3's)

I get the impression that Platinum Games could take any franchise and make it better, they're a talented studio and they're one studio that I want to see become a major player in the games industry.

I'm a Microsoft fanboy, to. I rock a Lumia 920, I have and love my Dell Venue Pro and I truly am excited for Microsoft. Xbox One won't be in my living room yet, but it might be if I have a reason too.

Bandai Namco would be the acquisition that would make the most sense. It would be a open huge door for Nintendo in terms of launching their IPs into the Animation, Toys and Amusement markets.

Instead of licensing their characters to other companies, they would have full control of all of their content.

Not to mention, they would have control of dozens of IPs from Bandai Namco, all on Nintendo's consoles. The Souls series would be an excellent complement to Nintendo's "hardcore" offerings, for example.

Sure, it would be expensive as hell (2.25 billion dollars to own 51% of the company), but Nintendo would profit a lot from it, and would further enrich Nintendo's content offerings and IP value.

Bandai Namco's IPs:

  • Ace Combat
  • Digimon
  • Dragon Ball
  • InuYasha
  • Klonoa
  • God Eater
  • Mobile Suit Gundam
  • Naruto
  • Ni no Kuni
  • One Piece
  • Pac-Man
  • Power Rangers
  • Ridge Racer
  • RollerCoaster Tycoon
  • Saint Seiya
  • Solatorobo
  • Souls (Demon Souls, Dark Souls)
  • Soulcalibur
  • Tales of
  • Tamagotchi
  • Tank! Tank! Tank!
  • Tekken
