Now I'm all all for animal rights, but this seems like another case of PETA going overboard to me - I don't see any gamer wanting a real life tanooki suit for themselves. Anyway, they've even gone to the effort of creating a little game in which you play as a tanooki dog, chasing Mario to get you fur back.

Um... you get the Tanooki suit from a leaf, Mario doesn't go out and skin the fictional creature. PETA should seriously just quit, there are better groups out there actually doing some good for animals while they make a joke out of protecting them.
Seriously, beaten and bruised animals don't need idiots trying to save them, they're doing more harm then good and it really pisses me off. Also nice work PETA on trying to protect fictional animals you damn dolts, why don't you go petition Skyrim for Dragon cruelty and while your at it degrade some women by putting them in cages or making fun of fat people... Uuuurgh I hate them so goddamn much.

If you haven't noticed already, PETA is a extremely biased group. They are extremists, probably the worst of the worst when it come to animal rights guys. From what I heard from my teacher which has done research on the group, PETA not only wants to protect every animals rights, they have also constructed a porn website. I have debated on animal rights, and people who have used the source of peta.org were just straight out laughed at and their case was destroyed. If PETA had control of animal rights, every single animal would be free and roaming the earth and we wouldn't be able to kill, have animals as pets, and we wouldn't be able depend on animals for work (such as seeing eye dogs, and the such).

I actually don't agree with animal rights, but thats a whole different topic were getting into. If any one wants to discuss it with me though, id be happy to take pms.

And yea, don't ever listen to PETA when it comes to animal rights.

Actually a Tanooki is a real animal, it basically is Japanese for a Raccoon Dog.

It's a mythological raccoon-like creature that can change it's shape. Hence why Tanooki mario can become a statue. (Not sure if that's in SM3DL, though ) They are also very shady and tricky, hence why Tom Nook is considered one.

To the PETA thing... I honestly think this is reverse-psychological propaganda by Nintendo.

They've gone an turned one of the best DS games for girls into... PETA is so stupid. They want to point the finger at other people, yet here they are using probably the biggest array of violent images than any other organisation. A quick google search told me.

What annoys me about PETA is that they seem to allocate more resources to these silly publicity stunts than they do for actually helping animals. They could do much more for animals of they weren't spending their time making these little "animal-friendly" games.

I just found the funniest comment I've ever seen on the YouTube video about the game PETA made.
