True, Sony did release the PS4 in Golden Week, while the Wii U was only released in the first week of december.

The gamer hasn't really changed over the years, Nintendo still makes fun games with exceptional visuals.  The PS4 will rebound, no doubt.  The Wii U on the other hand has to continue to fight an uphill battle, and that is better for us consumers, meaning Nintendo has to make top quality games with each release just to compete.

Right now Wii U has got the best games. I am probably going to wait till Phantom Pain comes out before I get a PS4 myself.

The fact that Wii U was released right before Christmas definitely played a role.  But these PS4 numbers are still unusually low for a console that has no competition and is supposed to be the hottest thing.

Am I the only one NOT surprised by this? Japanese gamers have their heads screwed on right, when a console has good games they buy it, not if they're expecting the console to get good games later on in it's life. That's just illogical, you may as well wait until it gets those good games you were expecting, and the console will probably be cheaper then, too.
