Would've preferred a better musical to cartoon ratio and better lyrics for the "True Friend" song. Regardless, it worked better than I expected for something that needs to be two episodes, mostly because of forcing plot development into songs. As for the "certain game with a Wolf Link" *cough*. Eh. I was never fond of the idea and still dislike it but the episode hasn't made MLP "ruined forever" for me or anything yet. I'll have to wait for season 4 to see how bad it is. Umn... yeah. TL;DR: Shoulda been a two parter.

I honestly don't see why people are griping about alicorn Twilight.
This may be mean for me to say, but I'll say it anyways.

The writers know what they're doing. My Little Pony is Hasbro's intellectual property, and the writers aren't just bums hired off of the street for the lols. If you have a problem with how the writers are handling the story, you may feel free to cry about it.

Griping about gripers aside, I really enjoyed the last episode, and I patiently await season 4.

I haven't really been into this season, mainly because I was lazy, so I skipped all the other episodes and watched the newest one.

I don't get all the negativity, it just seems like the fans are afraid of change or this ruins their favorite grim fanfictions.
This episode really reminded me of the old he-man episodes, which introduced characters just to promote their toys. Sometimes it sucked, but other times it was great. Fisto and Bizz Off were amazing characters because of their ridiculousness.


Ehhh... Maybe this wasn't the best comparison or this shouldn't be the reason I like this...

I watched the premiere episodes, but I couldn't help but think they were... Meh.

 

I don't know why, they just seemed rather bland. Hopefully the rest of the season is more exciting. I need to rewatch the premiere, though, as I tend to have different opinions the second time I watch things.
