If you want more successful results in terms of room size, I'd recommend making this one day of the week for a couple hours. Sounds silly, but this way everyone knows when to play.

but then not everyone can play at that time. Maybe a couple days a week for only a few hours?

I say just keep it up with no specific dates/times, it's nice being able to hop in and play with friends from the forums off the cuff

Was glad to see the game save the "Wii U forum tournament" without having to enter the code every time.

 

Have entered before but no-one was there, went in tonight and a few others joined so I've had one race in the tourney so far.

Can we seriously just edit the banner with text quoting the code for the MK8 community like reddit's /r/WiiU community did? MK8 is a really great opportunity to help the forums grow a crapload and so far considering we've decided now is a good time to take the MK8 banner down, and have done nothing else special to celebrate the game or welcome people from that game into our community we're sure doing a good job of bucking that opportunity up.

If we put the code on the banner we can tap into the pretty big number of people who like to just creep the forums, and the people who just stop by and look at the frontpage. Instead w've decided it's a good idea to rely only make this tourney open to people who are a) interested enough to go searching for an a thread about the tourney, that isn't even pinned or b ) Lucky enough to see it when it on the front page because one of us has recently commented. And I say lucky because this is thread is in the section of the forum with the most pots, so it probably won't be there for long.
