Seriously I was expecting something better out of this game, still I'm not ruling it out.

Graphics certainly seem to have received a downgrade, but my hype levels got a lot higher. Really liking the story as well as the more sci-fi aspect.

Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

I think I specifically pointed out the character models back then too, honey.

There have been no graphic downgrades. If anything it has only been upgraded. Considering neo las angeles now has 1000% more content in the city geometry, dozens of cars on the streets, with real time headlights lighting the surroundings, people who dont walk in a single straight line and clip through each other etc...

We never actually saw the faces of the party members from p[revious trailers, which are obviously now the results of the character creation system.

The face design is straight from Xenosaga's fmv's school of design, which Im not a fan of. Never have been.

Blargh cherub faces.

But the game itself has never looked better.

Thats not to say its not glitchy. Its extremely glitchy, lots of zfighting, unfinished textures in coreners we arent supposed to look out, lod swap mistakes, vertex jitter on ellas, elmas? character model, z buffer misses, z fighting.... Its almost like Monolith soft went into extreme crunch mode, desperately hiring tons of staff to create enough satisfactory game to show off a large area barely getting done in time for the nintendo treehouse.

Oh wait, thats excatly what happened. I guess thats why Monolith soft's been hiring out the wazoo for the last year.

This gigantic area is a tiny fraction of the actual game, that they feverishly worked on to get ready to show like this. The rest of the game isnt even complete. Or they wouldnt still be hiring people to model it.

Its only going to get more and more polished, especially once the game becomes feature complete. especially since they have until 2015 now.

This was an absolutely fantastic showing.

Why is everyone mentioning the faces and character models. If anything, it's the look and design style and nothing to do with graphical downgrades. It has more of a fantasy/anime look then realistic and I think for some reason a large number of people assumed a realistic angle.

needs some defining, they were like you got a piece of cloth and started layering them over one another then drew on some lines to make it look like clumps of hair.

So they shoved bouncing cg boobs in. Boobs boobs and more boobs.

Personally I was hoping for Kunihiko Tanaka's more xenogear like designs.

But whatever. Ill take the faces knowing the game itself is safe and far away from anything remotely xenosaga, forged in Takahashis philosophy that xenosaga style game design is a dead end.

You can't judge a games graphics simply on the cut scenes, actual gameplay looks fantastic and just look what the Wii did with Xenoblade.

The e3 and direct didnt mention co op, or anything online, as they were very specifically reinforcing the fact the game would actually have a single player story mode as a result of the rash of morons claiming it was a monster hunter clone/multi only game.
