What do you think the next handheld coming up (after ps vita) is going to be?

I would think that Microsoft may just make an attempt for a handheld if not I would think that Nintendo is going to REALLY surprise us with some really good innovation.

It will have three analog sticks, a two multitouch 1080p 10 inch screens with one on the front and one on the back, ten axis motion sensing, two volume sliders, two power buttons, and best of all, it will play games in full, amazing, beautiful, fantastic, splendiforus, 4D.

I highly doubt that Microsoft would try to make a dedicated gaming handheld. Considering the 3DS had a rocky start and the PSP Vita isn't faring very well either It would be pretty dumb of them to try to break in now. Maybe they'll release a really powerful tablet or smart phone but the time for Microsoft to Join in with 3DS and PSP is far, far behind them.

That is like saying that Sony needs to stop making PSes (PS1, PS2, PS3) and come up with something new. Nintendo stopped making gameboy's (there are tons of different models) and now you want them to stop making DSes!??!

Not at this moment, after the 3ds is finished they can have a new name. They had many ds models. I think they can make something new now. DS, Dslite, Dsi, Dsixl, and 3ds . Gameboys had about as much systems as there were ds's. It could be a new system with a new name. I never said they should stop making handhelds. Maybe, they could have one last DS to introduce the new style of handheld gaming. I'm sorry if my tone mislead you.

This thread isn't about Sony so I'm not going to discuss that. I'm talking about handhelds too.

Basically, I mean a new name.

They went from Gameboy to DS in maybe a year or so they can go from DS to TBA.

That would be pretty hard for Nintendo to do without taking step backwards. The dual screens have worked very well for them and if they went back to making handhelds with just one screen, some games would suffer as a result.

As for the next handheld, the 3DS has been out for less than a year and the Vita has only just released in Japan, so unless Microsoft choose to enter the handheld market, it's going to be a while until a new competitor emerges for the 3DS and Vita.

The next handheld by nintendo can be called the" Nintendo Slide." I will call it NS. It has two screens but you can slide it and play with just one. It can play 3ds games too. The NS's game though can be similiar to a ds game but circular. The NS can have motion technology or maybe projection. It can have mii's great third party support and it can run great graphics.Tthat is one of my ideas.

It's WAY to early to tell, but if I HAD to guess, it's probably going to be another iteration of DS with Wii graphics and improved AR card functionality. Actually, screw that. Nintendo can't make any more innovation with the DS. MAYBE a console that the screen is all over the device? It's like an iPod with no back, just sides. And if you want buttons, all you have to do is slide it out from the sides. Aren't I a genius!? Although it'll probably end up as a piece of junk.... XD
