They also saw the Wii as an underpowered junk machine...didn't stop them from copying it...and it didn't stop the Wii from owning both Microsoft and Sony. And honestly, if Sony/Microsoft hates on a system, you know that they're quaking in their boots...and showing their new consoles at E3 2012 would only prove that point.

The difference here though, is that we're within the Wii U's launch year and the thing still hasn't generated much interest. The Wii had a massive hype train from announcement to release and that was a big reason for the success. This doesn't at all mean that the Wii U fail because it's not living up to these expectations, but at the moment we really can't determine how well it will do on the market. But I'm counting on Nintendo to pull off something amazing at E3 2012, their conferences always beat Sony and Microsoft's hands down.

It's also hard to generate interest when we know next to nothing about what the system can actually do. Just sayin. :T

I actually see this as a positive thing since it means the next Xbox and PS4 likely won't be that much more powerful than the Wii U which means we'll still get included in big multiplatform titles and hardcore gamers won't be shun it for lack of power.

I don't expect a full blown reveal from Sony and Microsoft. However, I do think they will show a teaser to try to steal Nintendo's thunder.

Also, saying that the Wii U will be more powerful than the other consoles, well, that is foolish. The Xbox, Play Station gamers are OBSESSED with graphics. These companies won't let Nintendo win in terms of innovation AND graphical capabilities. There have been rumors that the next Xbox can display graphics on a near-Avatar (the movie) level. Of course, I seriously doubt this, but it's what they're probably striving for.

The Wii U is more powerful than a PS3, yes, but not by much. We all need to accept this. It's far more advanced in it's innovation, not graphical output.

Microsoft seem logical to me to announce a new console but Sony announcing one I cannot see that. Sony's financial situation as a whole not just gaming lead me to believe they will wait. It really doesn't matter. People will choose which console works best for them. It is not hard to believe that the other companies are ready to announce new consoles. It is just how business works. As for who will be the most powerful doesn't even matter. It will be a close generation as it was the 6 generations before this 7th generation came along.

First they bash Nintendo and the next thing you know, they're copying it.

That's why Nintendo is always going to prevail no matter what. Unlike other companies they're innovators not copycats.

you know shokio, the dude that recently joined this forum, he just released a video proving wii u IS a next gen console its an awesome vid and he has like 10000 subs so a lot of people will see it. if someone doesnt believe it, link them to the vid

oh and about the E3 2012, im not 100% convinced but i am pretty much 95% convinced that all three next gen consoles will show at E3 2012, but if one of them doesnt then it will be ps4 that doesnt. im really hoping microsoft goes all out with the kinect next generation
