Who else is as excited for this movie as I am?

This teaser trailer just increased my hype levels by at least 500 times.

I would have liked them to have worked with the EU but I'm optimistic that this is going to be a great addition to the series. Even if it doesn't turn out to be amazing in the end I can't see myself disliking it.. I'm just too damn excited for new Star Wars that isn't 3D animated.

meh see it on Netflix. Never cared much for Star Wars. I mean they are fine and don't hate them. Just seen them enough from the originals where Han shot first on VHS to the crap 90's re-releases in theaters and sadly the prequels...ugh. JJ did ok with Star Trek even tho he took out what made the series what it was and made it action instead. That's fine alt universe and all. This will be fun to watch on Amazon or Netflix.

Hey, the later half of Clone Wars was Fantastic. The whole series brought the prequels from 2/10-5/10. They work in a sense, just there's a lot to go through.

But yeah, REALLY hyped for this. That music..just.YES. I'm buying tickets for at least twice opening weekend hopefully.

JJ made a Star Wars film in the setting of Star Trek. Sadly, Into Darkness screwed up all my hopes for that, with the whole truther bullcrap that Orci/Kurtzman forced in there.

I've been meaning to watch the Clone Wars series but it'll probably be after I catch up on Rebels since the little I have seen of that seems promising.

Watch TCW. It's awesome. As for the trailer, I loved seeing that the galaxy had moved on, yet, it hadn't. I'm expecting the whole "awakening" to be similar to Korra Book 3 with the airbenders. Rumor has it the villain we see is a guy that has studied the dark side and is a collector of Sith artifacts. I'm thinking he'll be similar to Zaheer: he knows and has studied enough so that when he can, he's super dangerous. The claymore lightsaber is probably an early prototype or something the villain found and experimented with. I'm hyped. The teaser gave just enough to hype so I can say,"This will atleast be really great."

Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

I saw all the star wars films minus episode 6 because idk...

This trailer doesn't really hype me, they should just do a reboot, would people really care if they had new jedis and stuff? The older characters are iconic.

I don't think you understand. We already got a Star Wars Reboot when Disney Destroyed the EU. Considering how much of Star Wars lore was in the EU, they basically rebooted the universe. Also, the whole "it needs to be rebooted" is crap. No, rebooting an iconic Science Fiction/Fantasy Series is not the answer. The one example that's worked and beaten the originals has been Planet of the Apes, and that took an entire reboot of a reboot to fix. Rebooting Stars would be like rebooting Back to the Future: It would never be able to live up to the originals unless a miracle happened.

Also, in case you didn't know, The old cast IS in this. According to rumors, they're passing the torch to the new generation

I wouldn't mind that either. There is so much EU (expanded universe, which is the novels and games and all that jazz) that takes place before and after the movies. There's so much that could be done with Star Wars but what it's most well known for is the story around Darth Vader, so there's definitely the potential to expand into completely unrelated stories from distant pasts or futures from the Star Wars movies that the series is most famous for. I'm really excited for this movie though.

I didn't really look at it like that but that makes sense that it could be considered a reboot in a way.

Yeah, but old Luke skywalker and Han Solo aren't gonna be able to do much XD

What can be so exciting about new characters though?

If they followed your ideas and lack of understanding why, the movies be worse than the prequels. In fact be worse than Turkish Star Wars.

Sorry I'm not a star wars nerd like you, and Turkish Star Wars wasn't even called Turkish Star Wars, people just made that up...

I think the characters from the 6 movies have been done enough, at least the main characters. It would be better for some new characters with new stories instead.

Perhaps he will just use familiar faces to kickstart the film and ease the new faces into the film for future films like he did Star Trek using Lenard Nemoy. So fans can grasp something familiar and handhold them for the future.  Besides be great to see Luke take on the role Obi did. Han going one more time and Leah wearing...erm...uh hopefully a lot. Cover up please.

I was thinking it would be more like the latest Indiana Jones in that they introduced his son who will presumably take his place in the future but still kept Harrison Ford throughout the entire film. I'm not sure how I would feel about Han giving away the falcon to someone else, while Lando did pilot it in Ep VI it was still Han's ship (though I guess he trusted Lando with it more because it used to be his) so I think it would make more sense for Han to keep it as it is a part of his character.

Indy has no son. Last movie was in the 80's. There was no 4th movie

I never had as big a problem with Indy 4 as most people seem to. I don't think it met the expectations of most but I also think most had their expectations too high.

The only time I saw it was at the cinema and from memory I enjoyed it. Been a while since I've watched any Indiana Jones so maybe I'll watch through them again sometime.

I'm guessing that if JJ is going to go full hog on passing the torch, we're going to see the Falcon Bite the dust. It will probably still exist, but the Falcon WE know will be replaced ala the Enterprise.

I didn't have much in expectations. It was just a terrible film. Everything from the nuke fridge to terrible acting by Shia as always to cgi monkeys. To cgi aliens. Script was bad. Effects were bad. Lucas and Spielberg clearly lost the magic touch they had in the 80's. Film just felt like it was made to cash in on the name but nothing more.
