Splatoon does look like good fun. I will definitely be picking it up when it launches. However, I find it hard to be more excited for it than for some of the other games on that list. The Wii U sure is going to have an amazing year! :P

Yeah I can understand why, it was a hard choice :D and I agree, so far the Wii U looks to have a solid line up to start the year!

Although I am looking forward to every single game on this list, my most highly anticipated Wii U game has to be Zelda U, I love legend of Zelda and this title is gonna be huge

There are games coming out for the Wii U this year?

If the new Zelda comes out this year, definitely that... But history tells us it will be delayed.

Oh man. This is literally the year ive been waiting for since buying the system, aside the games Im talking about dont get delayed to next year.

Lets see:

1: Xenoblade Chronicles X. We shall be as gods.
maxresdefault.jpg

2: Legend of Zelda Ive always been excited for and enjoyed Zelda, even though theyve been focusing on parts of the series peicemeal that havent really been what I loved about Zelda, but they have all been more than solid entries (No matter how much I critisize entries like oot and tp) but I am super excited about this one because it seems the revolving door has finally come back to service the exploration/wonder/discovery audience. All 12 of us.

3: Splatoon.

Gameplay this good, with mechanics this fresh, being this solid, is something I just cant ignore.

Once my itch of the first two is at long last scratched, I will probably go on a spree picking up all kinds of the smaller titles and off shoots for discounted prices, and enjoy them much more than I would have at the time they released. Ill eventual

Honestly, there's nothing on that list that excites me. I will be picking up Zelda Wii U (if it really comes out this year), but I'm just meh about it. That's pretty much it.

UNACCEPTABLE OPINION!!! to the Nintendo reprogramming chambers!!!

That is a bummer though, Im super excited, as several of these releasing this year are literally what I bought the system for. Anything in particular you are waiting for that would make you super stoked?

Seeing more footage of Zelda, Star Fox, or a new Metroid game would make me super stoked! I will admit, this will be an excellent year for Wii U. At the moment, I'm REALLY excited for Mortal Kombat X.

A metroid announcement would blow my mind. Now that you mention it... We should be getting something on the new starfox soon, as it should be coming out this year, Mr. Miyamoto said it would actually be releasing before the new Zelda.

Mortal Kombat X looks like they took the rejected designs from War Gods on Nintendo 64 and recycled them. Problem with that series is most the games are mediocre to terrible then once in a while make a really good one. MKII and 3 were decent then pretty much was bad from there on out with one decent one PS2 era then last gen a good one with MK9 but then Injustice was garbage. MKX looks so bad.

I'd take Virtua FIghter 6 on Wii U. 4 and 5 as so damn good! I'd settle for DOA6 or TTT3.

I am excited for it, just because it is filling another niche in the Wii U library. The Action/Shooter combo and multiplayer looks interesting and it appears as though there will be lots of customization. With that said, we haven't seen anything since e3... so they could have refined and polished.

Well they've been almost silent about it. And the stuff we have seen looked incredibly last-gen and lacked any memorable style or character. Compare some of the screens to Bayonetta 2 and it's just an instant loss.

Most likely the dev team has been given a lot more time to iron things out to make it a solid title on the Wii U. Nintendo has a lot to push the first half of this year so I don't expect to see anything until e3 now.

Some info came out in December,

After he left Team Ninja, Dead or Alive creator Tomonobu Itagaki began work on a third-person shooter titled Devil’s Third. The game is being published by Nintendo and will be released for the Wii U sometime in 2015. Of late, Itagaki has been using his personal Facebook to reach out to fans of the shooter, and recently, he shared a few more tidbits of information with them.

When asked what the title “Devil’s Third” means, Itagaki said it has to do with music. Itagaki could be referring to a “tritone,” a musical interval composed of three whole tunes or six half tones. This is colloquially sometimes referred to as “The Devil’s Interval,” but whether or not this is what he was referring to remains to be seen.

When asked if Devil’s Third will feature both a single and multiplayer campaign, Itagaki’s reply was as follows:

“We made this game for single play (campaign) and online online multiplay gamers. ‘Cuz I know I have to respond to expectations by both gamers. So, in fact, we invested double amount of resources than general development in this industry, to accomplish to develop this game. I can’t show you specific length of single play mode, ‘cuz we’re still tuning this game. But you can estimate the total length of single play mode, by my saying above.”

Itagaki was also asked what framerate and resolution the game will run at, to which he replied that the game’s specs are still being worked out.

Clearly, they have been given time to polish the game. The draw for me in this game, isn't for a character persay like Bayonetta, but more for the style and genre of gameplay: action/shooter, plus the online functionality and crazy/silly customizing.

The game was running on UE3 I believe at the time, not sure if that was going to change.

Well think about this. The game was announced in what 2009? Relics Engine and then that company went out of business. Then THQ takes over publishing rights and it has to switch engines again to Darksiders II engine. THQ goes out of business and this game was being made for PS3 and 360. Bayonetta 2 was a game cancelled in development. Nintendo swoops in gets the project going again. Devils Third is similar. It has since switched to Unreal 3 engine. He has said the game has improved a good deal since the E3 build. besides the E3 build actually looked fine but people like XCX faces pick something beat a dead horse and everyone goes with the herd.

Don't expect it to blow minds visually but look good enough and just be a good b rate action game. I don't mean B rate as a bad thing as Pretty much all PG games have the same vibe and they are amazing.  I suspect we won't have to wait too much longer for more info.

Zelda U all the way. It is the game I have waited all my life for.
