It's just a name but this makes me really happy:D.

What names do you hope Nintendo could change it to?

Ok, I'm going to sit here and disagree with everyone. The name Wii U is great . They are not changing it and here is why. Yeah but they did not call the Wii Nintendo Wii they called it Wii alone.

I think they are going to remove Wii from the name and call it Nintendo U.
And the slogan would be "the perfect console for U!"

I wouldn't mind it at this point, and it'd do great to demonstrate the "hardcoreness" of the console to those who weren't too impressed by the Wii. Besides, it's not the Wii name that's recognised by casuals, it's the Nintendo name. If it has Mario and a Nintendo logo on the box, then everyone knows what it is.

They could remove Wii from the name because keeping Wii in the name would confuse people into thinking that it is still a Wii but with upgrades.

Nintendo Stream is actually pretty good, i hope they consider that one again. Maybe (by the way all console names by Nintendo have been preceeded by the name Nintendo ie: Nintendo GameCube)... hmmm Nintendo Link (heh heh)... Nintendo Flow, Nintendo Flux, Nintendo Connect (please excuse me if i stole yours... i didnt look at all the previous posts and im just throwing as many as possible). this is a really good point. wii sold well not because it was related to a previously successful brand, but because it was made by nintendo and because it was revolutionary. naming the next console wii u will seem less revolutionary than a new name, and it will put ps360 gamers off, and casuals might think its a tiny upgrade.

just a few seconds ago i thought this might be a downside, but now i say, bring on the new name!! i really hope they do this
