Why does everyone keep saying Revolution. That name has already been used up with the Wii. The Wii's code name is Revolution, so that means is most likely not going to be an option for the Wii U, unless Nintendo wants to call the system Revolution U.
RUMOR: Nintendo considering renaming the Wii U

Nintendo 6
Nintendo U
Nintendo Stream
I'd be happy with any of those. I just really hope they'll drop Wii out of the name. The Wii has an image you know, it's the console for casual gamers. If Nintendo wants to attract a new hardcore audience, they shouldn't name it Wii U. It's not hardcore enough.

Well, let's look at the past to predict the new name:
Nintendo Entertainment System: It's an entertainment system that is made by Nintendo.
Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Like the above, but it has 'super' in front of it to show that it's a sequel to the first.
Nintendo 64: It's a 64-bit Nintendo console.
Gamecube: It's a cube that plays games.
Wii: A corruption of "we" or the prefix of "remote." It might also have several other meanings. Really, it's quite ambiguous to the average consumer.
X: A console that streams the game to its tablet-like controller.
If I had to guess, I would say Nintendo will keep the Wii U name like they did for the SNES, or change the name to something involving streaming the game.

What we do is, if we ever need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
We put the volume up to eleven. One louder.

I don't dislike the name 'Wii' but I think removing that from the console name would definitely increase sales from so-called "hardcore" gamers and also result in less ridicule of the name.
