It's a battle of Samus's evil clones! In this corner, we the have the Phazon Munching, Planet Corrupting, Dark Samus! In this corner, we have the Suit Stealing, Self Multiplying, SA-X! Who will come out on top as the number 1 threat to the Universe!

On a more serious note, I've made it through a good chunk of Metroid Fusion, and I'm almost finished with Prime 3 (just trying to find all the pickups before the final battle), and I couldn't help but compare these two. Both of them are pretty much clones of Samus, copying her suit and many of her powers (along with a few new ones in Dark Samus's case); but which do you think was the bigger threat to Miss Aran, and her universe?

SA-X, while I feel Dark Samus was a bigger threat, I feel SA-X was a better antagonist because I was genuinely scared every time I saw here.

With Dark Samus all I thought was: "Oh, Dark Samus, let's see how long it will take me to either die or win."

Dark Samus was a bigger threat, though.

I've never played the Prime games so I can't really say. I do think that SA-X could be more dangerous do to it's ability to multiply.

I'd also have to say that even though Dark Samus was a much larger threat than SA-X, the sheer amount of fear I've come to associate with SA-X makes her a far more effective villain. At least you could fight Dark Samus from the very first encounter. With SA-X, you couldn't even touch her until toward the end of the game. When I see Dark Samus, I just blast away at her like any other enemy. When I run into SA-X... well... let's just say this picture is a pretty close representation of how I react.

Metroid Fusion was the only handheld game that ever scared me. You can thank the SA-X for that!

I think I was the only idiot who tried to kill SA-X when I first saw it.

Isn't Dark Samus technically a metroid? You know, the creatures that naturally prey on X-Parasites?

Yeah.

Though in terms of who I fear most, I'd go with the SA-X I guess. SA-X was better executed in my opinion, and the chase scene is really amazing. The battle was a joke though :/
