- sensor could be used to predict the weather
- sensor can also estimate the time of year and detect which room in which the device is located
- sensor data can be used to alter in-gamme content
- includes an atmospheric pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, and a humidity senso
- also features a dedicated microcomputer and memory
- these allow the unit to run the sensors at periodic intervals
- sensor reading history can be plotted on-screen
- view graphs that detail this information
- atmospheric pressure sensor data can be used to predict weather
- data is sent to a server
- results come back as a large-scale map of atmospheric pressure
- temperature and humidity sensors can detect patterns over time
- data can show whether people are in a room or not
- can also eventually infer the time of year
- applications involve using sensor readings with various historical data to generate indices such as beer index, an influenza epidemic index, a comfort or discomfort index, and a laundry index
- system could also recommend clothing for a specific day
- can also be equipped with a radio or an infrared communication system, which would allow for control of other devices
- allows the Wii Sensor Bar's infrared lights to be used for communication
- could work in conjunction with a smell sensor, dust sensor, human sensor, camera, illuminance sensor, and an ultraviolet sensor
- patent originally filed on August 12, 2011 in the states, which was after a Japanese filing on August 20, 2010
- inventors are listed as Yasuyuki Shimohata, Ryoji Kuroda, Kazuhiro Hosoi, and Takanori Okamura
- this technology could be used to fix console systems, PCs, phones, PDAs, and hand-held game systems
I hope it's happening:D.

I like the idea of a Beer Index though.

It is related to Terminator movies where machines took over the world in the future. Skynet was the AI system that caused the events that lead to the near extinction of humanity.I never understood the Skynet meme.

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

Wait, wasn't skynet supposed to go live when Portal 2 hit shelves? Do you think the Regginator has something to do with this?...Skynet will go live soon, methinks.
Now for the sensor, this sounds interesting. I don't know how they'll use it, except for the aforementioned Animal Crossing.
YES! YES!YES!YES!YES!
YEEEEEEES!!!!!!!

How about a New Super Mario Bros game, where the levels are effected by the weather. If it's sunny outside you have what looks like a canyon. When it's raining outside, it's a water level. Or, in a grass land type level, a beanstalk grows when it rains, which gives you access to a secret area. Or if there's a real damp cave-like area, when it's cold outside, it will be frozen.Or if there's a poll of lava with a cave entrance right at the surface off it, and you can't get to it without burning yourself, the lava will freeze giving you access to the cave. Or, to put it the other way around, there's a cave blocked by ice, and you can't enter it until it warms up.
Something tells me Nintendo is already whipping something up across those lines.

I don't know if that would be such a good idea. If you live in a place like Hawaii the temperature stays about 75 degrees year round, so you would never make it in that cave. And it probably just annoy people if they have to wait several months to get in that cave. Especially people who rent games. How about a New Super Mario Bros game, where the levels are effected by the weather. If it's sunny outside you have what looks like a canyon. Then how would this thing even work. If it is 20° outside and 70° in your house how does it know it is cold outside? There is probably more to it than just turn on the A/C.EASY SOLUTION: PUT THE A.C(AIR CONDITIONER) ON!!! DUH!
Bleh eh eh.
