Yesterday, I got a new server with CleverKite named Galaxy. MLP Forums, being the largest site I host, is already up and running on it. Today, I'll be moving Wii U Go and TheWiiU.com over to it as well. Expect some serious speed improvement once the move is complete. ;)

Downtime will hopefully be under an hour, as I've set the TTL's on both sites' domains to 5 minutes, but don't be alarmed if the sites remain inaccessible for 48 hours.

That'd be great since all AJAX based take way to many time right now. Page load is fine tough.

i barely understand what this means, but clearly its a good thing so yay!! and does this mean status comments will stop double posting, and quotes will stop double quoting?

Huh, I don't see how a new server can have any influence on those features.
And basically, AJAX just means updating a page. (Posting etc... )

We're now up and running on Galaxy! In addition, I've also added a content delivery network. Enjoy the turbocharged speed. ;)

Wow, loading topics is much faster now! It use to take about ten seconds to load the Count until Pony Vs Non-pony edition now it takes about two. The site is much more enjoyable to browse now. :)

AJAX code is run on your own PC, which is why it sucks hardcore and should be abandoned.
But hey, IT loves buzzwords, right?

I hear cleverkite are pretty good.
Cloud though. :(

a content delivery network.

What?

That isn't true at all. AJAX is run the same way as loading a page, but since the requests are way smaller it should go way faster. In here it still took as much time as a regular page.
AJAX is made to not have to load pages as often and thus make them faster.

I can easily say that this site has gone significantly more faster and smoother in comparison to the previous.
Thanks, Feld0.

My credentials are in software and web development, what are yours?
AJAX uses Javascript on the local browser to display your flashy text that doesn't need you to press F5 to update.
It increases your CPU's load.

I never said it makes your pages load slower. I said it's run on your local PC, and should be abandoned due it being the worst thing to ever happen the internet.

It's just bad design to expect your clients to all have relatively new computers.
And javascript was always terribly high on resources.
It's getting better, but improving on **** is pretty easy.
