Wii is an established brand. It's staying.
You don't have people complaining about an iphone when they have an ipod and an ipad.
It's a brand, and Nintendo are looking to keep wiimotes(+) as secondary controllers.

The article?
Not sure where he's getting his information, but it was a nice read regardless.

But Nintendo consoles have their names changed a lot. The Iphone never does.

The wii supported gamecube controllers, yet they didn't name it Gamecube 2 or something. So maybe they can support the wiimotes but still call it something else.

Supported is different to having it as a main control scheme.
The absolute maximum a Wii U will support is two upads, for 4+ players you'll need wiimotes.

Very good point, I had not considered that. Has anyone considered that PS4 might not be PS4? If I'm not mistaken, the number 4 is unlucky in Japanese culture. The number 4 is pronounced, "shi", which is the same pronounciation of death.

I agree with you as well, although we can never be too sure. I heard that Sony's next-gen console is code named Orbis. That makes sense, considering Orbis Vita means something in Latin that I can't remember.
More On-Topic: I'm glad that it's not another professional troll trying to constantly down-talk the Wii U for once.

Quick google search came up it means the Circle of Life.

Yeah, that is what I heard on this site's chat. It seems as if every console won't have it's number on it, at least not in relation to it's current generation. Well, at least not too much relation.

I've seen and said the name Wii U so many times that I actually like it now and don't want Nintendo to change it.
