It mention's Nintendo's previous end of generation sales, various big costs that will payoff in a few years, how the strong Yen hurts, and demonstrates the difference between Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft through their Mission Statements.

A company's Mission Statement says a lot about the culture and values of that company.

FINALLY, A VIDEO GAME JOURNALIST THAT UNDERSTANDS BUSINESS! (This excites me because of my business background).

I really like this article! I can't help but completely agree that some of the losses had to deal with currency. Some of Nintendo's largest purchasers, America and Europe, are under economic stress, so the currency value will of course decrease. This was definitely a very well written article and this author really understands business. Glad to see a solid argument!

Not sure why, but I felt....... satisfied by reading this article. Probably because of a nice relief from all the 'doom' article against Nintendo that have been appearing lately.

Thanks for sharing this, tis' a good read.

"And I get it: doom and gloom stories work. They sell newspapers, they get people watching those pathetic shows like “A Current Affair” and they’re great link bait. Why do you think that 90% of the nightly news is filled with stories of car accidents and police shootings? There’s a huge business in Failure. It’s almost an industry in it’s own right."

This part of the article is so damn true.
